There are 4 pages of them, though I think some have been included twice so I"ll give the link at the end here are some samples.

"I might play in another final there and don't want that stupid (runner's up) plate for a fourth time. I am going to win Wimbledon one day -- even if it is the over 40s doubles ..."

A reporter asked Ivanisevic whether his Tuesday loss to Byron Black could be attributed to jetlag incurred as a result of flying from Los Angeles to Montreal. Ivanisevic responded: "No, my brain is jet lagged for the last eight months."

Ivanisevic on Croatia's chances to win the World Cup:
'If they would win? I don't know. It would be great. I think the whole country would be drunk for the rest of the year, including me and the rest of the team. We would celebrate. I would put the racquets in the closet and just come back next year...'

'The trouble with me is that every match I play against five opponents:
umpire, crowd, ball boys, court, and myself.'

'I think they like a little action. They like action movies, so they like me. Always something interesting going with me when I play, some aces, a little talking to the people around, a little fighting, a little throwing raquets. They like this. They don't like when somebody's too boring. They like American. I think I'm doing pretty well. I was surprised in Indianapolis, it was really nice.'
~When asked why the American public likes him so much (1996 US Open)

I don't like it. I go to a restaurant and everyone is 100 or 150 years old. Every time I think somebody is going to die there.'

Q. How is your elbow?
Goran: It's still here.
~Lipton 1994 Interview

Q. Goran, first, about yesterday, the incident on the doubles court. Can you describe what it feels like to be hit with a serve from Marc Rosset in the back of the head?
Goran: 'Very nice feeling, I tell you. It's -- you have to try once. It doesn't hurt at all. I mean, it's an unbelievable pain because you just wait for his big second serve; I mean, it's coming here right on my neck.'
~Lipton 1997 Interview

Q. How is the pasta?
Goran: Pasta? Pasta is always going to be bad in America. It is always --
Q. What if it is made by Italians?
Goran: Cannot be real Italian. Can be half, half, mother can be American, father Italian. It is not Italian pasta. I just eat it for lunch. It was really bad.

Seriously he reminds me a lot of Croatians that I know. Very fiery, enjoy life and not very politically correct.

I remember when Marcelo Rios reached the number one spot without winning a slam he said that Michael Chang was more of a number one player than Marcelo.
You have to remember than in early 1998 Chang was a top ten player and he had been in the top ten for the last decade.

:P gotta love him

I dont like him that much, didnt like what he said about Marcelo, and I never enjoyed his "ace or double fault" style.

What he said about Rios was true to an extent, I mean a guy with Rios's ability should have won at least one Slam.

He was pathetic against Korda in the AO final, there are much worse guys talent wise that have played and won Slams ie Gomez, Johansson.

Well I am not a huge fan of Ivanisevic playing style, but at least he provided some laughs over the years.

Actually Rios has bagged out many players himself, and in many cases it's true, just like what Goran said about him. I mean the guy played very well during that time, but he should won at least one Slam.

His quotes are one of the reasons I've always loved Goran so!
He's never boring, even when he's losing.
He needs to publish a book of his quotes throughout his career.
It would surely sell very well.
I really hope he does not retire yet. Here are a few more quotes
from him:

My fines? I pay more fines than some guys' career prize money on the tour.

'The way I played today I should go to jail.'
~Goran on losing to Chang at Shanghai

`I was pretty nice to the racket all last week. I was surprised how easy it broke. Maybe there is something wrong with it, or I'm too strong.''

'I'm Genius'
~Goran, Wimbledon 2001 after beating Tim Henman

lol @ this:

'I wouldn't want to go to a sports psychiatrist, because when you're finished, you come out more crazy than you go in.' 'I still break racquets, but now I do it in a positive way.'

12-23-2003, 10:51 PM
:hearts: @ :

'I will donate $50 to charity for every ace I serve. I hope I serve a lot of aces. Any waythat we can raise money is good. Anything that helps kids is nice,' 'Maybe I should give another $50 for every racquet I break!'

12-23-2003, 10:54 PM
sorry anna :o

'I played like Kournikova - 20 double faults per match.'

'I changed my attitude in my head. I had to have a press conference with myself. After I did the press conference, everything was working

hehehehe :worship: @ goran

"John McEnroe is an idiot"

sorry tatjana (altho i really do think it is time for these two to tie the knot):

"Yes, I said that I would marry if I won Wimbledon, but this is a new century, new rules are valid now"

12-23-2003, 10:56 PM
"Good. I like to play fast. Too many players bounce the ball, they look at me, they look at the ground. They bounce it 10 times. They look at the sky. They bounce it again an' I fall asleep."

12-23-2003, 10:58 PM

The between-the-legs half volley, is that 911?
It's a tough shot to do it. It's one of my best shots. When the ball comes so quick, you have to react somehow. I play '98 final Wimbledon that shot. Today I play twice. I won the point once. That's a great shot. If you miss, you know, it can hurt a lot

12-24-2003, 01:28 AM
You gotta love Goran :D
