Who do you dread your favourite player coming up against?

I'm pretty new here so please excuse my ignorance if this topic has already been done.

I was just wondering who everyone hates their favourite player having to play against (i.e. who are you scared that your favourite player will lose to?).

Being a Lleyton supporter, the blokes I fear will beat Lleyton most are Moya and Ferrero. I think their games just happen to match up considerably well against Hewitt.

Also feel jittery when he has to play guys who can do anything on any given day like Fernando Gonzalez, Nicolas Escude and Younes El Aynaoui.

I hate when Andy plays other players I like because then I'm torn about who to root for.

Obviously I want him to win all the time, so there are some players who I'd rather see in the other side of the draw, but if that's the way it happens then I'm OK with it because Andy can't overcome a bad head-to-head against someone he has trouble with unless he plays them and wins :D

Good thread idea.

For Agassi I fear:

historically: Sampras, Rios, Kucera

now: Federer (after that Masters Cup Final), Ferrero, Hewitt

For Tommy, I fear Roger Federer and Andy Roddick... Can't beat them

For Alex, at the moment any player

Alex Bogomolov vs. Nicolas Kiefer. They've met twice already and it's absolute torture for me. The last time they met was in Tokyo where Nicolas won, 7-5 7-6(7). But the score isn't burned into my memory or anything :p .

I remember having to watch that match on the Tokyo scoreboard and constantly refreshing. It was hell!!

I think future Roddick/Ferrero matches are likely to be rather closer than the USO final was. Can't wait for a match up on clay ;-)

For Guga and Gui, I fear the gigantic servers. (max, Verkerk....shudder)

For Agassi, probably Ferrero, Federer and Enqvist. Rios has given him trouble in the past, but I dont fear him as hes not even half the player he used to be anymore.

For Hrbaty, any top 20 player at the moment :o

When Roger is playing against Hewitt and Nalbandian, I feel rather nervous and a little scared, but nerver to say DREAD... I'm always looking forward to watch Roger playing against the two guys, eager to find myself what on earth their games should trouble Roger so much...Even if it just happens to be another loss, still I don't dread but pressing to see their next meeting...

Yeh same here jtipson! But I think *hope* that the result will be slightly different from the US Open when they play on clay; we all know who rules the clay courts ;)

Well, it has to be Marat Safin who has an excellent record against David. I always hate to see Marat's name in the same part of the draw

I think Agassi still has his hands full with Ferrero and now Federer. The all-courters give him the most trouble. The power-hitters are a cakewalk for him. ;)

My faves are losers, so it would take too long to go through them.

I don't think Ferrero would like to see the name of El Ayanoui in the same section.

Ferrero: El Aynaoui (Ferrero is something like 1-6 against Younes), Rusedski (He's never beaten Greg), and Federer (Of their past four meetings, Ferrero did win Madrid under pressure, but the three others were one-sided thumpings for Fed)

Haas: Agassi, Kafelnikov, and Kuerten

Youzhny: Well, everybody right now, but Coria and Federer in particular

LMAO! Likewise... For Jonas:
Kafelnikov (check out the head to head  )
Max Mirnyi. Only because Max is up there with my favourites, and I know he's got a good game. Though Jonas pretty much kicks his ass :)

Moya - Mardy Fish. Ass! ;) Why knock out the guy with a fantastic chance to knock out hewitt ;) ;)

Gaudio playing nearly anyone at the moment, but especially Corretja.

Corretja I don't think would like to see the name of Guga anywhere in his section.

Mantilla and Ferrero, no matter how many times and chances he has had to win Felix finds a way to lose.

You better believe it! Marat's knees buckle upon just seeing Andreas' name in the same section! Denis has to pick him off the floor and get him a glass of water :D

I don't want to see Tommy or Karol against Sjeng Schalken, because that would be plain boring to watch. Actually, I don't want to see any match with Schalken in it.. :o

Wow Kafelnikov is 26-1 in terms of sets played against Bjorkman
Thats amazing

For Canas, he would be happy never to see Guga.
Wayne Ferreira against Agassi is just painful.

Too bad Kafelnikov is gone he had some guys he hated playing Hrbaty, Rosset and Thomas Johansson.

Oh, I just love their rivalry! Unbelievable that Ferrero always manages to win in the clutch against Felix. And all their matches have been nail-biters, with just one exception.

I am well aware of the Mantilla/Ferrero rivalry, too aware of it actually.

Try sitting through these matches, with all these little teenybopper Ferrero fans, and becoming almost as frustrated as Mantilla when he hasn't put away those chances.

That's what happens when he doesn't have a finishing shot.
