Wish I could see it, but that link just takes me back to this page over and over again - wonder why?

try copying and pasting the URL sjengster... that worked for me

lol omG!!! that's just ridiculous...
but if you can believe it, i think their poll about "Who's the Greatest Female Player of All Time" was EVEN worse...
i think it left out monica seles and margaret court  while throwing in serena, venus, and martina hingis...
but andy has 1 slam... so this is right up there with the worst tennis polls of all time.

oh, and the voting for that other poll was horrendous... chris evert and bjk (who are way way up there imo) had a combined total of less than 5% of the vote... serena and martina (each) had more than both of them combined and won so much less.

They left out Rod Laver! Oh, and Federer has more of a reason to be in that poll than Dickhead!

MisterQ

yeah, that's pretty bad. Here's the poll, for those who can't reach the link:

Who is the greatest male player of all time?
Arthur Ashe
John McEnroe
Bjorn Borg
Pete Sampras
Andre Agassi
Lleyton Hewitt
Ivan Lendl
Andy Roddick

And here are the voting results as of today:

*
1577 votes since Dec 12 2003
Arthur Ashe** 2% 39 votes
John McEnroe** 2% 46 votes
Bjorn Borg** 11% 181 votes
Pete Sampras** 56% 884 votes
Andre Agassi** 20% 320 votes
Lleyton Hewitt** 1% 31 votes
Ivan Lendl** 2% 44 votes
Andy Roddick** 2% 32 votes

Ashe was a great man, and a very good player, but his results don't allow his inclusion in this poll (unless they mean "great" in the sense of all-around humanity, but I highly doubt that's the point of this poll, lol!) Hewitt and (especially) Roddick have not been around long enough to have earned this distinction either! And where's Rod Laver, that's a good question! And Connors? among others...

I couldn't get to the poll by copying and pasting the URL either. But I did a search for polls and got it.

Ashe doesn't belong in the poll if tennis achievements is the basis. Hewitt and Roddick don't belong there either, but at least they are the two with the least amount of votes (when I checked).

I agree that Connors has the legitimacy to be on there. Laver as well. Other than that, they have the usual suspects. Sampras is leading the poll, which is deserved.

i was waiting for someone to say this. none of the new balls deserve to be on this poll, but you saying Roger needs to be there in replacement for Andy, well he didn't get #1 so there's your answer. but yet another stupid poll, when they have a decent poll on there it's gonna be the end of the world:o

"At least" those players have all reached #1. (Ashe was before rankings were created)

you all are putting a lot of energy into a YAHOO POLL lol

true, but it's funny bc usually we make fun of the stupidity of ppl voting in the polls when now it seems the ppl making the polls need to get their facts straight.

yea... I mean it's Yahoo LOL... named after onomatopoeia lol

Sorry... in a goofy mood tonight

Well they need to include some recent players because a large amount of fans only know recent players. So I suppose it is to dumb it down. Not having Laver on there is a very big error though

I'm not saying that Federer deserves the inclusion in the poll, I'm just saying that if they feel the need to include Roddick, than Federer is just as worthy!

Well that was a funny poll too bad they left off a lot of names, then again I am surprised.

Well Pete Sampras is winning the poll, and hes the greatest out of that list, so at least the voters are getting it right. But most yahoo polls are stupid anyway so it shouldnt be a surprise.

And Graf won the women's best ever poll so whoever is voting are not totally clueless, whoever is making the polls is though

LMAo not at the poll (after all it's a free speech), but at the people who vote for them preferring to other players on the list... shows how much they know or care about tennis.

Navratilova is the greatest.

Only if you count singles + doubles. In singles Graf eclipses her in just about everything.

actually... monica is the greatest :worship:

That's what happens when your main rivals career is just about detroyed early on in your respective careers. Take away Chris Evert, and Martina would have won more slams than Steffi. Oh, what if what if... I refuse to have a Monica/Steffi arguement here (or anywhere for that matter), so I'll just leave it at that :p

what ifs dont really count.

Even if Seles was not stabbed I do not think Graf's record would have diminished by a lot (probably 2-3 slams)
