2/347

6 overs to go

If Australia had another 3 or 4 overs Ponting would score 200 - Ponting No 1 bat in ODI, daylight second, this is special

I parlayed Detroit in the NHL (won earlier today) in with Aussie here so am sitting pretty right now :)

South Africa choked in the VB Series and it looks like they've choked at home too. Well done to the Aussies, awesome display.

I thought Ponting's innings was special

Gibbs' was even better!!!!!!!!!!!

SAF could possibly pull of the most remarkable win in the history of sport IMO if they chase this down

Australia may have the best batting lineup in world cricket, But i will tell you there is no way they will get the 3 peat in the Windies next year if they take this bowling attack over there.

Looks like they will pull this win out, but very unimpressive with the ball and in the field.

Van der wath is flaying this attack now, pendulum has swumg again

This is going to be embarassing for Australia if they can't defend 434...

Australia have turned from World champions to world chumps in the space of an innings for cricket

Ponting must have laid Australia at $1.01 at the start of the south african innings, no other explanation for leaving lewis on till the death

Geez I can't believe the Aussies lost that game.

I went to bed after our innings thinking the game was won and when I wole up this morning I thought the bloke on the radio was kidding when he said we lost. I had to check the date and make sure it was April fools day!

Have never liked or rated Mick Lewis pleased to see him set the new ODI world record for most runs off allocated overs :p

Hopefully the selectors get the message soon......

Probably the same guys who lost big money on the AC Milan v Liverpool game last year. Too bad for them, they knew what they were doing.

I watched the South African innings after hearing what Australia had scored. Couldn't believe that Australia wouldn't be able to defend 434! But gee I'm happy with the result... I can't stand Graeme Smith, but it's always nice to see the Australian team put in their place :yeah:

That was the best ODI match ever and I doubt it will be matched... what a treat for the crowd, paying for a match where there are 872 runs scored in a day!!!

I heard on the news that 2 punters put about $20000 on Australia after their innings at $1.01 to win just $200, what a disaster!

(Wasn't any of the punters here was it :p)

Well done to South Africa - brilliant game.

South Africa might be good value for the first test - a match like that will shatter you mentally and Australia could be affected big time.

Good for the Aussies to get knocked down a few pegs though, there are some arrogant people on that team.

And Peta Pan, you have the most disgusting avatar I've ever seen

Haha I'm so late in replying!

I fully agree with your first comment... extreme arrogance on the Australian team.

As for your 2nd comment :ras: I actually think my av is pretty awesome, just like my team ;) You're not a Carlton supporter are you? Might explain why a 'Dasher' Milburn av would disgust you....
