Jakob Hlasek has beaten 22 GS Champions. Can any other 'journeyman' say that?

Off season thread alert! Journeyman is maybe selling Jakob Hlasek a bit short, but he was not exactly a superstar. However he played 26 GS Champions and beat 23 of them. OK so he still has a losing head to head against 20 of them but I think it's pretty impressive :worship:

Here's his head to heads :

vs. Agassi 2-3
vs. Connors 2-3
vs. Courier 1-2
vs. Ivanisevic 4-5
vs. Krajicek 2-3
vs. Lendl 1-10
vs. Becker 1-7
vs. Edberg 1-15
vs. McEnroe 3-4
vs. Muster 2-4
vs. Noah 1-4
vs. Korda 2-5
vs. Rafter 1-2
vs. Sampras 1-6
vs. Stich 2-4
vs. Wilander 2-5
vs. Bruguera 1-2
vs. Cash 1-4
vs. Gomez 1-2 (Totally forgot about him)
vs. Chang 1-6
vs. Costa 1-1
vs. Nastase 2-0
vs. Kriek 2-1

The only two GS Champs he played that he never beat were :

vs. Edmondson 0-1 (He won the Australian when it was not as competitive as today)
vs. Vilas 0-1
vs. Kafelnikov 0-4

I think to beat 23 GS Champions is a great achievement :worship: Obviously players like Pete, Andre and John beat practically everyone but for someone not really that well-known Jakob had some great wins. Can any other non-GS Champ say they have beaten more?

(Yes I was very bored and was fiddling about on Tenniscorner :o )

wow that must've taken you a long time lol. Anyway, never heard of the guy but it sounds like a pretty impressive statistic and a nice thing for him to tell the grandbabies :)

Very impressive, but he got to number 8 in the world, so that's not bad for a journeyman.

Bunk, he was Czech but raised in Switzerland and he used to be doubles partner with Rosset ( when they were talking) and Guy Forget.

what year did he reach number 8 in the world?

yes, Jakob was a top 10 player

He reached number 8 in the world at the end of 1988.
