I never liked him as well, :armed: esp that tennis god wasn't injuired but didn't play for his country in DC this year.

actually i want to see federer vs nadal in the final again,
(for nadal to prove he can beat federer again and again......)

for nadal to take over federer no.1 position (unlikely but not impossible), federer needs to loose more points to close the gap... difficult situation...

anyway, still want to see nadal vs federer in the final.

vamos rafael!!!!

íVamos Rafa! You can do it. Today you can defeat James!

I'm a fed fan but appreciate Rafa's uniqueness and threat to roger. I'll always root for Roger but came up with a good Rafa name and want to be the first to post it, so here it is, "NADALOMGODDY"...said with awe and respect.

Well, I'm a Nadal fan, but trying not to sound biased when I say this: I don't necesseraly want Nadal to win but I would like it to be someone else than Federer. This is only because I think it's boring when the outcome of a tournament is known until it even began. It would just spice things up a bit and make watching and following the tournament more interesting. Though, I have to give it to mister Federer, there is no one like him and I have much love and respect for that man!

Vamos Rafa, Guapo!

GO RAFA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If Rafa wins this would mark the road to be number 1 this year. He is scheduled to play 22 tournaments. I know that he is really far from Roger, but he has a chance if he wins most of them.

Yooo... okay, I was watching (and really anticipating beforehand) the Marcos/Nadal match... I really really thought that would be a tough one.. Well, Marcos played pretty well, but Nadal was ON FIRE in that 2nd set. I mean, Marcos has a NICE groundstroke game, but Nadal's defense is just amazing. The match made me realize something, though.

On some instances, Nadal got a few shorter balls that I am almost certain Federer would have been able to put away for winners. Nadal isn't able to or won't do so consistently. So I think that clearly, Federer has the edge in finishing shots and the mid-court (shortball) game... I mean, don't get me wrong, Nadal is top-10 in this department, but Federer is simply the best at that... But then, I also realized that as often as commentators like to put Federer (and sometimes Hewitt and Blake) into the same category as Nadal as the top defensive players, after watching last night, it became clear to me that Nadal HAS NO EQUAL in playing defense.

I think since Nadal is more of a natural clay-courter, he simply enjoys playing defense... that's his game! He can play offense very well, but he lives off his defense... Federer doesn't enjoy playing defense as much and likes to finish points quicker... Basically, Federer is better on offense than Nadal and likes to play more offensively, but Nadal is better on defense than Federer and plays more defensively.

He might not get past Blake, though. Blake's pace really takes away from Nadal's looping forehand (look back to U.S. Open).
