long 1st game
Ferrero had break pts

finally 1-0 Poo

Tennis Fool

Impressed that Ferrero is improving on grass. Wonder how he'll do at Wimby next year?

uh oh that sucks...though it could be better for the players it sounded like it was brutal on Friday

TBE are you watching on tv? How do the guys look?

TheBoiledEgg
11-30-2003, 12:45 AM
both edgy

Sushi at 4-5
0-15 DF
a shanked FH which lands wide = 30-30
a complete mess of a smash gives Poo set pt

which Poo messes up with a slice which just about crawls onto bottom of net

2nd game pt now for Sushi
deuce

5-5 finally

Deboogle!.
11-30-2003, 12:52 AM
thanks for the commentary :)

TheBoiledEgg

Poo wins set 75

Ferrero saved 2 set pts but not 3rd after going 0-40

TheBoiledEgg
11-30-2003, 12:56 AM
i think thats gonna be the end of Ferrero
he had to win the 1st
hope i'm wrong but i dont think he has it in him physically to go 4/5 sets

11-30-2003, 01:03 AM
Why is that, TBE?

I always question Mark's fitness.

Deboogle!.
11-30-2003, 01:03 AM
according to Eurosport, which is practically orgasm-ing in their commentary, they're playing really good tennis right now.

Tennis Fool
11-30-2003, 01:05 AM
Well, Eggy, I thought Moya had no chance against Flip, so the fact that Spain is still playing is too good to be true...

TheBoiledEgg
11-30-2003, 01:08 AM
Ferrero has been ill and he looked really drained at end of Hewitt match
now he's lost 1st its not looking good.

I wouldnt call it they playing good,
good in parts, neither is playing good at same time.

TheBoiledEgg
11-30-2003, 01:10 AM
Well, Eggy, I thought Moya had no chance against Flip, so the fact that Spain is still playing is too good to be true...

big diff there is Carlos has a bigger serve and came in quite a bit
Ferrero stays back 99% of time.

Poo is also playing better.

TheBoiledEgg
11-30-2003, 01:19 AM
2nd bp for Sushi as Poo DF's
1st was saved with Ace
2nd saved with a big 2nd serve

Poo escapes 3-2

TheBoiledEgg
11-30-2003, 01:35 AM
should have played Lopez
at least he would have taken it to tiebreaks and put pressure by coming in.

Poo has it too easy, he just gets serve back and he knows Ferrero will stay back.
plus he's winning some longer rallies too.

great smash
11-30-2003, 01:36 AM
It's 2.35 am. I don't think there much doubt anymore as to who'll win the tie, I think I better got to bed :wavey:

did JC stay back this much against Hewitt?

I'm sure he did, just Hewitt himself is a different kind of player

TheBoiledEgg
11-30-2003, 01:38 AM
against Hewitt, it was a baseline match for both players so it didnt make a diff

plus Hewitt likes a target.
you got to take net away from Poo or else he's tough to pass

Poo 75 63

TheBoiledEgg
11-30-2003, 01:41 AM

WyverN
11-30-2003, 01:46 AM
Everything has been very predictable so far.........the only blip has been the amazing win by Moya

Ferrero's deficiencies on grass are so far apparent against a serve volleyer like Mark - that is Ferrero instead of rallying gets one crack at a passing shot and that is makking JC very uncomfortable, could turn it around but does JC have the fighting spirit in him like Hewitt?

TheBoiledEgg
11-30-2003, 01:46 AM
gonna be going soon too

I look away for 5 min and Mark gets broken again... wtf is happening!?! lol

WyverN
11-30-2003, 02:11 AM
I think Mark is in real trouble. He is very tired now - his serve has slowed right down and the beer gut must be feeling really heavy.
Ferrero about to serve for the set at 5-1.

I dont think Mark has much left in the tank but does Ferrero? If ferrero doesnt concede a early break in the 4th, doesnt tire out and forces a 5th set he should win this.

Deboogle!.
11-30-2003, 02:12 AM
Mark should not be tired

WyverN

Mark has run out of steam - Ferrero returning the serve easily now.

TheBoiledEgg
11-30-2003, 02:17 AM
still a long way to go

Poo serving 1st is a big AD
Sushi needs to slime early in 4th

Poo lost that 3rd more do concentration than anything, Ferrero made a few good returns too at vital times.

All this talk about letting Lopez play instead of Ferrero.

Arthurs should have played instead of Mark, at least Arthurs isnt carrying an extra 5kg. Mark as good as gone unless he breaks straight away in the 5th.

TheBoiledEgg

TheBoiledEgg

Egg, is it the change of tactics that's throwing Flip off, or something else

nothing really
his serve seems to have gone off, that long game in 3rd set really turned the match.
Sushi getting more balls back, and is looking alot fresher of the two.

Poo getting his shoulder rubbed too, lying on his back.

WyverN
11-30-2003, 02:53 AM
I am in Australia

It isnt that Ferrero is playing much better, its that Mark ran out of steam, his serve has slowed right down and Ferrero is ripping it back at the moment

Juan Carlos looked soo upset after he got broken in the 4th game of the 5th set he actually cried, ive never seen him like that before.

about the injury time out im not sure who called it because mark left the court and then juan carlos started getting his legs treated and then he finished and then mark came back and had his shoulder treated.
