Geez...no relevance to today's matches or anything...but I've just checked out other results today - the volatility continues! Volandri wins 1 game ; Gaudio wins 4 games ; and Serra wins just 2 games ; Wft? Madness.

Very busy today but so might not squeeze out a Rotterdam bet.

Santoro over Stepanek is pushing it I feel...I have good vibes with Santoro but also something telling me he will lose. Therefore no play. Also have doubts on Ollie. Nieminen should get revenge but I have a re-match rule so I probably won't play that match either. I don't bet on Henman matches...anything left in Rotterdam?

Pasha looks good for SF but I'm wary of Patience - don't know much about him. Vanek over Martin? Monaco over Chela? Not got any real leans there.

Have a good lean on Saulnier @ 3.10. He seems to be finding some form indoors and can match Dima. Odds are worth a small go I think.

Essentially, not much on for Thursday!

gahh

I'm taking Santoro at very generous odds (he's done me very well at good odds in the past two matches) as my main bet tonight, not much else to touch

I'm staying away from the dirt, the fix is on in Brazil

Stepanek to beat Santoro - $1.80 (big play)

Djokovic to beat Henman - $2.30

be lucky

Leans on

- Santoro over Stepan
- Rochus over Ferrer

Probably playing something on dirt and laying off on the two above though.. dont have my lines from brazil yet.. will decide later

Not much on offer nut somethin does stand out but the odds arent high enough therefor good for a combo!!!

30 units on Robin Toad Soderling 1.35/Henman 1.64 @ 2.21 over Carlsen / Djokovic!!!Could add Jarkko 1.54 to make it 3.40 but there is a slight risk!!!

Saulnier odds are tempting since Tursunov is a loose canon!!!!

I'm going to play with a bit of fire as well:

Adding:

Hingis to beat Sharapova - $2.00

good luck

I'm on Hingis also, but smaller stakes because the two of them played not a long time ago.

I'm on Schiavone, not sure about the stakes though, maybe I'll put it in a parlay to pump it up.

Stepanek is money

Horatio Caine
02-23-2006, 09:24 AM
Stepanek has been sentenced to my blacklist for 4 weeks, starting last Wednesday...therefore I'm not going to hit that match today!

I agree Prabu - something fishy going on in Costa do Sauipe and I don't like the match-ups there today anyway.

Only player I really like today is Soderling and he is a mere 1.36. Karlovic should do the business also but I'm damned if I put him in with another player :(

Might also do a small play on Saulnier - I'd give him at least 35% chance.

Horatio Caine
02-23-2006, 09:29 AM
Uhm - why is Vliegen @ 1.5 vs Goldstein? Anybody? They have never played before...

Monaco @ 2.10
Neither player playing well this year, but Monaco goes into this match with 2-0 advantage in H2H. Key victory for Monaco was beating Verdasco easily earlier this year, who I consider to be similar in playing style to Chela.

Simon @ 2.45
1-0 in H2H, which was just last week. Neiminen will go into this match with this monkey on his back. Simon has had some good wins this year, as has Jarkko. If Simon can do it once though, he can do it again.

Maybe my only wagers:

Hingis over Sharapova @ 1.95 (medium play)

Last time they played Hingis won easily. I still think Hingis will win but probably a tougher match. Sharapova will try to pound the ball and Hingis's consistency will keep it in play. Eventually Sharapova will hit herself off the court.

Monaco over Chela @2.3 (medium play)

Monaco is impressive this tournament and I think he's found his form. He beat JMDP in a tough match and then smoked Serra easily. He is 2-0 H2H over chela and I don't see why he can't beat chela again. I really like the value in this play since I feel Monaco has at least 60% chance of winning and for 2.3, I'll take!

Both plays could potentially lose; not the best day for big plays but I don't mind the risk for now.

Edit: Thinking I might add a little more stake to Monaco. Just feeling extra confident about this matchup but I don't want to overdue it.

Hey guys...any reasons why Vliegen's odds are generous? Seems too good to be true.

Horatio Caine
02-23-2006, 01:53 PM
Gonna be hitting a single on Pasha - he outdoes Patience in every category imaginable.

Likely to be 2 small bets on Monaco and Saulnier to pull off upsets.

Horatio Caine
02-23-2006, 01:56 PM
Vanek also has a chance over Beto I think...but won't be going for it.

Damn you Radek!! - you had to win when I had you on a blacklist sentence!

Tim Henman @1.66 over Novak Djokovic

Whenever Henman's back holds out right now he looks good. But obiviously you can couple that to when it doesn't and he invariably loses. I've read what Henman had to say about the Johansson match and he commented several times that the back felt fine. Djokovic is an excellent young player with a really bright future but I think on an indoor hard court you'd have to fancy Henman to get the job done. Might be close but will more likely be something like 6-4 6-4 in tim's favour. Hardly set in stone this one but I like Henman at 1.66 for a match I feel he should win. This is my only play of the day because I'm supposed to be having a week off but Arvind gave me a nice win yesterday so I thought I'd reinvest...

Bet to win a unit on Massu
Bet to win a unit on Goldstein

Massu has to have plenty of confidence being 10-4 on the year incl. 4-1 in 3 setters - This will be Almagro's 6th match in 6 days too, so I can't pass up 1.62 for Massu.
Goldstein, saw Jez' q - he is #73, Vliegen is #65, KV's had more success this year, but given the rankings I think these odds are about right. Rare dog play for me, but 2.91, too good for me to pass up - Goldstein, home country on his surface - I'll take a small shot....
