Andy withdrawal

It's only been three days since Houston ended and I'm already going through tennis withdrawal. :bigcry: The thought of having to wait until mid-January for the next tournament is giving me the shakes. :tape:

And after such a media blitz where practically every day there was a new Andy picture or article to look forward to, now there will be none. *poof* Andy gone for a few weeks! I don't think I can take it. :tears:

All I have to comfort myself with in the interim is my taped tennis matches and my Andy bobble-head doll. Oh, woe is me. :retard:

LOL I hear ya... I have a ton of "real life" crap to do but I understand.

At least you have the taped matches lol. Someone's sending me the Andy/Fish final from Cincy, but it's commentated in Japanese so that should be fun to watch lol. I gotta scrap $20 to get the DVD of the AO QF. I haven't even SEEN that one

It'll be Jan 18 before we know it :)

Oh man, you're missing out Bunk. Get it asap! lol (AO QF)

I'm actually welcoming this break as it allows me to focus more on other stuff instead of having my life so centered around tennis. It also makes sure that tennis doesn't go into overkill and my interest is still there while I look forward to January.

And yes, this messageboard helps time pass. ;)

Bunk, that's the one match you gotta see, the AO QF! I've watched that last set so many times, I've got it memorized.

I think my friends are gonna appreciate the offseason more than me, they don't have to listen to me talk about tennis for a while :) Granted, we'll all be home for most of the offseason. I go home friday for 10 days and then 10 days after that I go home for a whole month and then come back on Jan 10 so then only 8 more days til the AO! lol!

Something I have to do though to pass the time - I gotta get a good signature, you guys have to help me come up with something good!

I have tons of tennis on tapes that I can watch. I've taped just about every single match since last year's Masters Cup that have been televised (both men and women's).

I have about a week before Thanksgiving break. I'm looking forward to that as this is hell week (and upcoming hell weekend) for me. I have two huge papers due and I haven't even started on one of them. I then have one more week of instruction after Thanksgiving before finals start, which take a lil over a week for me. Then I get a 5-week break. Much needed! 2nd semester will start the 2nd week of AO, as usual.

ohmygosh.

I never watch taped matches unless it is the same day or something. I tape over all the things I tape, but I have my VCR. I want to get a dvd recorder. Also, I found out if I get a sony notebook, i can tape to it. Can actually watch on the recorded program while it is still taping and catch up to it in real time.

I am glad to know that there are other tennis nerds (term used affectionately) out there like myself, watching taped matches from time to time in lieu of the real thing. :)
