Bring on 2004

Forgot horrible 2003 and bring on 2004, hoping for an injury - free year! :) For me it was a really, really painfull year seeing all the other guys winning and winning, while Marat could have been in their place, but he was sitting at home injuried most of the time
I`m really looking foward to 2004.

What do you expect from Marat in 2004? Can we expect anything? In which direction will Marat go?

Well seems like the media and many other people already forgot about Marat and write him off. That can be an advantage, especially for Marat (you know, no attention).
I know it will be everything but easy and it will take him very long to come back. You know how long it takes him to get his confidence back and thats the thing with him, confidence and his head! But first of all he has to get back in the body shape and work really hard. After his absense he said how much he missed tennis and how he wants to be back at the top. A very good thing, hopefully he will be patient enough!
After all i still believe in him. He has the potential to be the best player ever and i want him to go there again so much. And maybe the time he had to think during his absense has made up his mind! Marat is too gifted to let this slip away and hopefully all the injuries will stay back now!

*waiting for the new season to start*

This year has been tough without Marat. It was nice to see my other faves do well, but tennis without Marat just isn't the same.

Yes, this year was terrible!
Hope Marat can stay healthy and recover his best form in 2004. Tennis is not so interesting without him. I really miss all that talent and personality on court.
Next year, I want to see that happiness again. And of course, that wonderful smile. ;)

I miss to see him playing SO much! Definetly its not the same without Marat, its like the sky without sun.

:sobbing: It was an awful year! The only good thing (And personally I don't even consider it that good) I got out of this year is that my eyebags had shrunk to a bearable size. I did not have to drag my sleepy butt infront of TV or computer at midnght or at 3 AM just to watch Marat play (or follow the scoreboard!). But what the heck, I'd rather have eyebags the size of Russia than tennis without Marat. ;)

I still think that Marat has still in him the power and talent to dominate the game. And I'm with you Andrea, Marat plays better when media eyes are off him. The less pressure, the better he gets.
And he's returning this year, and he will make this season an explosive one!

2004 will be very exciting! Go Marat!

As I am pretty new to tennis (I started watching only in August 2002) I haven't got 2 see too much of Marat, but what I have seen REALLY impressed me. :hearts: I guess ,this year I supported Juanqui and Roger most of the time (and Guillermo lately) bcoz there was no Marat and when he did the only good thing in 2003 (the final in Barcelona0 I had that horrid nightmare. I hope 2004 will be the year of the goatie and he will stronger than ever and more decided to humiliate Dick. :smash: :boxing:

I`m sure 2004 you will see more of Marat and he will impress you even more :) :D Cause he still has much more potential then he shows most of the time, also 2002.
We all hope for a fit and amazing Marat in 2004, but it takes time. Hope he can fully come back and show them of what he is done :bounce: Yeah, i would love to see a rivality between Marat, Roger and JC :D With Marat beeing the no 1 of course ;)
And yeah he will crash dickhead of course

Well firstly it appears that Marat has slightly altered his attitude, as he revealed during his interviews at the Hopman Cup, so I just have both fingers crossed that he really applies himself this year, (an injury free year!) & he goes back to where he should be - at the top of men's tennis, rather than No.77 in the world because he's so much better than that.

&his good results are always good news to his fans :D

hear, hear allusion! We know he's hungry and motivated, his health is the key. If he's healthy the rest will take care of itself. Davai Marat!!!

Yeah, his hard work in training and the hungry attitude in the Hopman interviews are really encouraging (not to mention the display of form off course)
A good run now somewhere (preferably Ozzie :p ) could really do the trick and get the M-train on the rails! But I'm holding my heart, cause all sorts of things can bar the way... but I'm very good in denial! I sure hope the health stays and the wrist holds, everything comes down to that, like you said Jessi.

I hope with every fibre of me that Marat makes it a GOOD result at the Australian, because honestly if he loses to Vahaly in the first round, that's the last that I will see of him before next year 05. :( &That would be awesomely sad.

I agree, let's forget last year, this is a new one.

And Marat's got everything to make it a great one. ;)

Go, boy!
