My leans for the weekend.

1.226 R. Nadal vs A. Clement 5.020
1.901 S. Grosjean vs M. Ancic 2.01
L. Hewitt vs V. Spadea
A. Murray vs A. Roddick
Volandri vs Calleri
C. Moyá vs Ferrero

Might be some nice handicapping with Murray/Roddick match. Sorry Phau but I don't got you on this board.

Probably playing Ancic for sure! 2.01 is a steal.. well maybe.. we'll see

Calleri @ 1.8
Large bet, should overcome Volandri after beating Acasuso. Hopefully I'll be able to ride him to the final.

Clement @ 4.5
Small bet, there might be a chance Nadal wont last the whole week, being his first week back.

1/2 will cover me for the night.

Clement in front of his fans...
Clement: 17-3 (36-13 in sets) against lefties in last 3 years (including victory over Verdasco this week)
Clement in semifinal after being set down against Gasquet and break down in 3rd set against Santoro; besides he always was an underdog this week, at least at the beginning of the match...

Nadal: on court after long injury-break
Nadal: bothering by all his 3 opponents in Marsillie (O Rochus, Simone and Mathieu)

Nadal 1.18

more info to back up the Kostanic play is that her opponent retired after just 6 games of her quarter final while Czink played a really tough three setter....all points towards a Kostanic victory.....I'm coining this one up....

bournerdan
02-18-2006, 11:15 AM
The Roddick Murray line is very tempting with Murray @4.35....seems a little crazy to me given that the A Rod has really been struggling of late, I wouldn't say that Murray is definately going to win or anything but he's got a lot more chance than what the bookers are giving him. You'd have to be a little nutty to go with Roddick over Murray @1.20 when Murray returns as well as he does.....what do you guys think on this line?

Merci beaucoup monsieur Clement for winning #14 straight against left-handers. That was my biggest play of the year and although he almost blew it, Arnaud was up to the task and showed us some nice money. Remember all my plays are -199 or lower or for Europeans 1.52 or higher. This is the only way to make money in tennis and I have found this out the good way in 2006. Let's have another big day!

Buenos Aires (Semi-Finals): Saturday, February 18, 2006

Carlos Moya -105 over Juan Carlos Ferrero ($525 to win $500)

I would love to stake much higher on this match but at this point in a tournament it is almost useless and since both players have enjoyed success on the clay courts, it would be ridiculous to go too big on this match. JC Ferrero go to this semi-final by struggling against Juan Del Potro, struggling against Flavio Saretta and by beating the world #99 Potatio in the last round. Not very impressive but still not to bad at all. Carlos Moya go to this semi-final by struggling against a qualifier in Round 1, by beating the shit out of Nico in the 2nd Round and by anihilating the red hot Ruben Ramirez Hildago in the last Round. Quality of matches...my edge is most definitely with Carlos. These two players have met 11 times and although JCF has the 7-4 advantage, once you a guy so many times, it doesn't really matter anymore since you both know each other so well. Their last battle was on clay in Estoril, a match where Moya took control late and won in the 3rd set. Get this one guys: Carlos Moya is 17-1 (only loss because of retirement) in his last 19 matches versus fellow Spaniards on clay courts. His last real loss was on July 28, 2003 in Sopot when he lost to Portas. Can you say...CHA-CHING! Having said that, Moya is also the king of the South American circuit as he is now 30-6 in South America and a very nice 14-2 in his Buenos Aires career. This is Moya's house and this basically plays like a home crowd match since the fans have come to love him so much. Neither player has been that great in clay court Tie Breaks over the last year or so but career stats indicate Moya has the advantage. I expect a great match from these two with tons of drama but in the end, its all in the Moya man!

Also taken Dementieva over Clijsters.

Nice thought with the odds being as they are but Clijsters is 8-2 against the russian and alot of those were relatively easy, I've got to go with Kim and I actually might play this line depending on the result of the Calleri Volandri match up.....

If Dementieva serves well (doesn't happen often!) then it could be close, if she doesn't (more likely!) then it won't....

olix
02-18-2006, 02:19 PM
I'm going with the value here. I have Clijsters @only 1.27, which is not worth a second look. Besides, Dementieva can actually beat Clijsters, unlike Golovin and likes of her.

Arnaud Clement has not lost to a left-handed player (not counting clay courts) since May 17, 2003 in Miami against Jarkko. He is 15-0 against lefties since that day on all surfaces but clay.

...and WTA usually burns me  Well done :yeah:

My thoughts on tonight's matches if you're interested:

Spadea is about 40% chance of winning. He can grind the match out from the baseline, something Hewitt isn't as good at right now. Serve-wise they are pretty much the same. Hewitti is weaker indoors...Spadea isn't bad. Spadea is value in my opinion.

Murray's returns and ability to mix and change the pace of the ball in rallies can really hurt Roddick. However, his serving hasn't been all that good this year. Indoor courts make Roddick's serve harder to break and it is unlikely that Murray will break it more than twice in a set. Roddick will probably win, but it may be tight. I'd go Murray in this one as he is value I think - he might pull off a shock.

I have a feeling Murray could take a set.. Call it a "gut" feeling after intensive research and analysis lol. Murray likes to hit with lots of variety and I'm hopping Roddick will overplay and overhit.

Also doubt Murray can beat roddick 2-0 but can probably take at least a set. So going with match ends in 3!

...and WTA usually burns me  Well done :yeah:

The WTA can certainly burn you if your not careful but every now and then I see something I like....this week I'm 8 for 8 on WTA plays........
Anyway, I agree with you that Roddick will 'probably' win but should he really be @1.20........hmmmmmmmmm.......I don't think so......bookies are not giving Murray the respect he deserves, I'd say this match up was 60/40 in Roddicks favour but that doesn't equate to 1.20 now does it?

I'm now 400 up on the day as Hewitt served up another 200 win for me.....just JC as a loser for me today. Should really stay away from the roddick murray line because today has already been another good one but not sure whether I will or not.......I relatively small play on Murray is the sensible choice here of course......either that or all in on Roddick :)
I can't believe the week I've had, four days in a row I'm at least 400 up, close to 3000 up on the week......should stop here I reckon and start fresh on monday.....and hope that someone continues to smile on me :)

I am relatively new around these boards but I have benefited from seeing other peoples opinions on lines I'm betting on and I appreciate all the help I can get in this game of tennis gambling, I've been gambling for a while with differing degrees of success but right now am experiencing my best ever streak and I do equate it to a mix of being able to rely on my own knowledge of the game and to mix it with the knowledge that i see displayed on these boards. The only thing that does puzzle me a little bit is the amount of arguing between people on these boards, seems odd when we're all working towards the same goal.........Ah well......I thank everyone for any pick that I can be seen to tail.....and I hope that at some point my knowledge can help a few people coin it up....

Twist - from what I've seen you seem to know what you are talking about and what you are doing. For sure this game is tough and sometimes you lose but I've learnt you've got to have a sense of humour when you win and when you lose. Like today Mistaflava said pick Moya over JC but I believed JC would win so I placed a medium play on him but I lost. so all I can do is congratulate the pick by mista and move on to my next line. None of us have a crystal ball here and none of our picks are set in stone.....play your gut feelings and post them for others to see your opinions. I'll hold my hands up and say I've had some shockers but I've also posted some good picks that I hope people have benefited from. Twistserve seems to be one of the better pickers on these boards....keep it up....good luck with your plays.....

But you are right - Mista is one of the best pickers on these boards...that much is clear as day but if my gut went against one of his picks I wouldn't tail him - JC today is the perfect point.

Obviously there are people posting bad picks on these boards and you've got to get to know who these people are because you don't want to be taking the opinion of someone who has no real knowledge of tennis. I know for example I have no reputation at all around here because I've only recently started posting here, but a high percentage of my picks have brought coin so I'm hoping that I'm building something here....

Twistserve, Jez, and Lorenzo -

Guys, cut the crap. What are we all here to do? Pick winners - right?

Forget about whatever stake people post next to their bets, and forget about whatever records people lay claim to - it is human nature to deceive in order to impress.

Twistserve - does a 15 year old lying out of his ass really bother you that much? you can't just ignore him? everyone here knows he's not that good, and that his average stake is 10 swiss francs - barely enough for a couple of cheeseburgers. of course he's going to act like a big boy and go around telling people he bets with 1000's of euros, but you seem the only one stupid enough to bother listening to his rubbish.

Baghman - stop trying to wind Twistserve up, you are both at a similar level as far as tipping is concerned, you're not better than him.

Jez - just let Twistserve be. Who cares what he posts, do you actually pay attention to him? Do you base all your picks on his? I don't respect him as a punter, but there is no need to go around saying that on here.

Go outside, get some fresh air, have a beer.

Roddick/Murray end in 3 sets @ 2.840 (Small play only)

I have a feeling Murray could take a set.. Call it a "gut" feeling after intensive research and analysis lol. Murray likes to hit with lots of variety and I'm hopping Roddick will overplay and overhit.

Also doubt Murray can beat roddick 2-0 but can probably take at least a set. So going with match ends in 3!

Keeping this as a small play because I dont trust set betting as much.

Bet was close but no $$ returned. Gut feeling said Murray could take a set but didn't think it would be straight sets! Oh well on to the next one ;)

:woohoo:

This covers my shit bets from last night as well.
