Just thought I'd introduce a new thread while we are waiting for the next tournament to kick off properly...for me, it was a few years back, because I was admiring his style of play, but I became a firm supporter pretty recently, Queens and Wimbledon last year. He seems such a nice guy, and the fact that he's very lovely doesn't do him any harm either. ;) :worship:
Also, second question: what do you hope the rest of the year holds for Thomas, realistically and specifically? I hope he stays happy and healthy, gets to the semis/finals of key tournaments and the slams, if not win them. :)

I became a fan when I watched a tennis tournament for the first time, at Kooyong 2004 when he played Federer. He looked so cool with that necklace thing that he had on that time and he didn't get too frustrated even when he was losing...
For the rest of the year I hope he wins a few tournaments, and get to the final at wimbledon :yeah:

I became a fan during Halle 2001. It was shown on German tv and he won the tourney beating Kafelnikov in the final ^^ I became a firm supporter when I saw him in Rotterdam 2004. He played on an outside court and I was one of around 10 people watching him play (don't remember against who :red: ) and I hadn't seen him play in ages because of his injuries in 2003 so I had forgotten about him a little bit (shame on me).
I hope he wins a tournament and stays in the top 15. He had a great year last year so I hope he repeats 2005 :)

I don't know :tape: It was all through articles and results during late 1999/2000. I first saw him play in 2001, in the Davis Cup against Australia. AWESOME! He won his match, and we were on the board :D Then, we lost every match after it  That was an emotional time, seeing my favourite guy (Jonas) play :) Being a fan of one Swede, encouraged me to follow the results of the others.
It's not that I'm 'not a fan' now, but when he got injured, I learnt a lot about tennis and found some more, different players to support. When he came back I paid a little less attention to him because of this. I'm still a fan, but if I miss a match, it's not the end of the world for me :)

well, I became a Pimster in 2004 and then I started to watch matches from all the Swedish players I could get. After watching last year's France vs Sweden DC tie I found myself becoming a ToJo fan. and then it was China Open. According to other fans' report and news, he's such a sweet guy, which made me like him even more.:D
I hope he wins another Grand Slam, or gets to a final at least. :p oh, and since he's got married, hopefully he will be a daddy soon.

It´s difficult to tell when I really became a fan of Thomas, but the first tourney I remember with him was a challenger in Hamburg in february 1996! He was playing together with some sweet guys like Magnus Norman :inlove: ,Patrick Fredriksson and Jan Apell! As I already during that time liked all the Swedes I got also interested in him ;)
Since that time I have tried to follow him always when I could, but of course my main attention was always Magnus
Nice to read all your responses. :)
