Soderling over Lopez @ -156 - $250 to win $160
Soderling looks to be in great form after easily sweeping through Helibronn Challenger without losing a single set. Lopez, on the other hand, has come off a bagel by Ivan Ljubicic on Rebound Ace, a surface which he should excell on. Soderling's best results have come on indoors, with his two titles coming on it, he's also taken Ljubicic to three sets on carpet. The last time these two met was at the US Open 2006 with Soderling defeating Lopez 6-2 6-2 7-6. Robin's serve is almost unbreakable on this type of surface, while Lopez is an inconsistent player, this is a great bet.

Henman over Clement @ -185 - $300 to win $162
Henman has a 3-0 head to head lead over Clement, and I don't see Clement as a threat to Tim on any surface, including clay. Clement's game is too conservative and Henman's attacking style should be easily able to cut off Clement's off pace passing shots and slices. I can also see Tim overpowering Clement on the forehand side and the backhand battle won't be very one sided due to Tim possessing one of the best slice backhands in the game. Both of Henman's losses have been to in form players. Another plus is that Clement lost 0-6 2-6 to another serve and volleyer in Mario Ancic.

Vik over Djokovic sounds like a good bet, but there's little to no money being offered for it at the moemnt. In any case, I'd favor Vik, Djokovic is too inconsistent at this point, but that could also mean a straight sets victory for either of them. Therefore, even if there is money being offered for this one, I'll probably lay off it.

2006 ATP Tennis Record: 13-2 (+$3817)

The Australian Open was just marvelous and I am already several dollars ahead of my target for the season. I know this pace is almost impossible to keep the entire year but I am feeling it and my bets have been golden. Keep in mind that I only bet on players -199/1.52 or less. No big favs and no large dogs. This is all about value and only some matches have any kind of value to bet on. Good Luck this week.
--------------------------------------------

Vina Del Mar: Round 1

Thomas Behrend -157 over Carlos Cuadrado ($157 to win $100)

This one is for shits and giggles this morning hence the reason I am staking small cash on this. Cuadrado has only ever won 1 match at the ATP level (not counting challengers). Behrend is one of the most inconsistent players on tour when it comes to betting but I will take my chances with him seeing that he has played in Chile before as where Cuadrado has not. In fact, Behrend won the Santiago Challenger event in Chile almost one year ago. He also had big wins on the clay court last season, beating C. Rochus, Verdasco and Ferrero. He also had some shitty losses but seeing that he has played well in Chile, I will side with him here. I also like the fact that he killed Cuadrado in 2004 at Dubrovnik which should give him some added confidence in winning this match. Behrend has already played in two tournaments this year but this is his debut on the clay courts and for those who didn't know, he was originally born in Brazil and has generally played well in South America. Behrend to win for small stakes.

Gustavo Marcaccio is a dangerous clay courter, he beat Hrbaty last year, which is exactly why I stayed off him. Horna was making a transition from hard to clay, whereas Marcaccio had been playing on clay all year and had to win two matches to qualify.
