The number three is currently David's favorite number for a couple of reasons.

He's only the third active male player to reach the semis or better in all four GS events, and he will be #3 on Monday if he reaches the final. Oh...and our David has three bagels in the AO this year!!!

yeah and as i posted on the AO2006's post :

http://www.lanacion.com.ar/cobertur...?nota_id=774652

Nalbandian hace historia

Venció al francés Santoro por 7-5, 6-0 y 6-0 y ya está entre los mejores cuatro del torneo; es el primer argentino en alcanzar semifinales de todos los Grand Slam; Baghdatis, el próximo rival

nalby is the first argentine to make SF in all GS :):):)

In Shanghai it was the N°8, let's hope it really is the N°3 now :)
So now David has 9 consecutive wins:
Coria
Ljubicic
Davydenko
Federer
Undomchoke
Wawrinka
Nieminen
Robredo
Santoro...

Why are you still up at such a time  ...you should be saving your energy for David's next match!! ;)

Oh, and he won his last match in three sets to become the third active male. Now, if he could win his next match in three sets (preferably), then he'd be #3.

Will he be winning by 6-3 6-3 6-3?

Our David can become #3 in the third week of the third month....let's hope he turns in a good tournament in IW. Go, David.

Well, our David did it...not in the way we would have liked it, but he did it.

He became #3 in the third week of the third month. This is just too strange. Could he stay #3 and win the third GS (Wimbledon)-or even the third MS of the year (Monte Carlo)? I know I'm stretching it here, but that's where he reached his first GS final. We'll see though.....

Think of it this way...he was #12 before Shanghai. He jumped up 9 places in the rankings since then (would it have been great to keep the "three" streak going and have been able to claim that it took three months to pull off this feat?).

Again, David....congratulations on your new #3. You wear it well, dude.

Great. Congrats to him, it's good to see him up there - the place that he belongs. :yeah:

Even if he makes me wanna kick his ass sometimes, he surely deserves it.

Hi guys! :wavey:
I know I'm a bit late but I just read the wonderful news :) David deserves the 3rd spot but I hope he can hang on to it. No matter how much I like him, I have to admit he has a "talent" for loosing matches he should win.

So far, David has remained #3....can he remain so in his third week (April 3...oh, boy, here I go again...)? Can David win Miami?
