SUICIDE AUSTRALIA: DAY EIGHT PICKS!

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c83/roddickwatch/melbourne.jpg

How to play Suicide Tennis:
Go here to read the FAQ (http://www.menstennisforums.com/showpost.php?p=2366171&postcount=1).
You have until beginning of the day's match play to pick your player. Once matches have started, you cannot pick a player. Go here (http://www.livescore.com/tennis.dll) to see the GMT for when matches begin play.
Pick one player per day (not per round) to win; if he wins, you are still in the game, if he loses, you are out.
If you pick a player who retires during matchplay or suddenly withdraws before a match, you are out.
If you pick a player whose match is rescheduled for the next day, your original pick still stands.
No changing your mind! Once you've picked a player, it sticks.
Please make your pick in a timely fashion. Game hostess reserves the right to disqualify a participant if she feels that the late pick rule is being abused.
In order to avoid confusion, please name your pick by the player's last name. NO nicknames or first names. In the case where players share the same last name (e.g. Rochus) please use the player's first initial as well (e.g. C. Rochus).
Here's a tool to help you figure out time zones (Melbourne) (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/)
VCASH AWARD FOR WINNER(S)! Bank Of MTF is offering a vcash award to the lucky winner(s) of Suicide Australia. Multiple winners will split the prize.
in order to win this vcash pot, the winner(s) must have picked a player to win every day of the tournament; no sick/off days allowed.
no stragglers allowed in after the first day of match play is completed.
no doubles matches will be included in this game.
Good luck

REMEMBER: Once you pick a player you cannot pick him again for the rest of the tournament. Matches begin at 11:00am local (Melbourne) time. You have until then to make your pick.

Down to three now :scared:

Just a question, because this is just my first time playing this game:
Do we have to pick a right winner up to the final day to win this, or as long as you're the last survivor, you won

And how much vcash is the reward? :p

kfh_9118

Also, for QF matches:

Do we still pick by order of play daily or just one player for QF?

Pick the right winner up to the final day, i.e. the champion.

how much vcash depends on how many pick the champion.

If you've looked at the draw the last few rounds and looked further ahead and do some basic guesses, then you should be fine and you should be able to land Federer in the final. I was on my way to doing that until that fart from spain lost.

If the semi's are spread over 2 days (which I think they are  ) we'll only have to pick one, right? Otherwise you can't win.

It will be hard if we have to pick per day instead of per round from QF.

Hence, if we start to pick per round from QF, my pick for QF matches will be:

NICOLAS KIEFER (GER) :woohoo: I just can't go against him, even though Sebastien is tough to beat, I will feel so bad if I go against Kiwi

Yes, this game can have 0 winners or many winner. The goal of this game is survive all the tournament of a Suicide.

If not this way, someone can choise Roddick, Nalbandian, Federer in early rounds, made a intentional suicide later and win this game because the others lost in early rounds. Do you understand?

But you can win this tournament with this rules. :worship: ;)

After today, there is still semifinal to pick. Hence if Kiwi wins today , I will go for Marcos in the SF and then if I still survive, Roger in the final.

2006 SUICIDE AUSTRALIA
kfh_9118's road to the finals:

Day 1 (1st round): Nieminen
Day 2 (1st round): O. Rochus
Day 3 (2nd round): Ferrer
Day 4 (2nd round): Mirnyi
Day 5 (3rd round): Johansson
Day 6 (3rd round): Haas
Day 7 (4th round): Ljubicic
Day 8 (4th round): Davydenko
Day 9 (quarterfinal): Nalbandian
Day 10 (quarterfinal): Kiefer
Day 11(semifinals): Baghdatis
Day 12 (final): Federer

To pick winners for a week-long smaller tourney is one thing. But to do it for two weeks during a slam is an impressive feat! Especially when there were many upsets in the earlier rounds and former "favorites" fell out of favor. Well done, kfh! You have everyone's r-e-s-p-e-c-t. :D

I will add you to our Suicide Hall of Fame and I'll let the admins know that you have won Suicide Australia and therefore the MTF pot of gold. I haven't heard from Gravity or Amanda in quite a while so hopefully you won't have to wait long before the MTF *ka-ching!* fairy visits you. ;)
