I thought I'd start this thread as I think It could be funny and interesting. Your answers can be superstitions, things you really believe, jokes or whatever you want to put. Cheers.

So, I'll start it off.

I know my fave is going to lose when...

...he has three match points in a game but loses that game.

 true story. Sometimes with some players I swear I can just tell. It is easy to tell when Henman is going to lose.

I wish that were true, and sometimes it is, but if it was a rule then I would have suffered a lot less pain from him in the last few years. The number of times I have been kicked in the teeth by the gap between expectation and reality in a Henman match... mind you, I gain some schadenfreude from seeing our presumptuous and complacent commentators go through exactly the same process as they realise what's happening.

Michael Ryderstedt - when I see him in the draw (lost 22 out of 32 last matches) and especially when he plays a German

Matka / Frytka - when they waste matchpoints

Gael Monfils - when he's got more than 3 injuries, or when he's staying 3 metres outside baseline instead of 1,5 - 2

Jarkko Nieminen - when he's starting to swear in Finnish

Chucho Acasuso - when he looks extremely bored instead of bored, and he doesn't dig holes in the court with his racquet.

Give me time and I'll tell you more ;)

For Nico:

When he talks continuously to his coach
When he gets an easy draw
When he can't break when he has like 3-4 changes in a game to break
When he plays Gasquet or Jarkko

For Fernando G:

When he forgets that there is more to the game than power
When he plays Roger or Gaston
When he says-I'm a contender for this tournament, I can win it

Usually I'd agree this is a fairly lame excuse but I played a doubles match at the weekend on a court which had a tree over hanging on a sunny day. The shadow does make a big difference. It is extremely hard to judge how fast the ball is going when it comes in and out of shadows.
