Kiefer acts like the biggest jerk on the court.

Meanwhile, good performance from Ferrero and he needs to work on his transition game to finish off points (stop hesitating!) and also stay healthy. I think he'll make it back into the Top 10 this year.

Very good defensive and fighting effort from Kiwi :D :D
he didn't play well but retrieved a lot of shots and used Ferreros errors

even Ferrero's attempt to disrupt Kiefer's rhythm by calling the trainer was not enough this time, good work Kiwi, three -by scoreline- impressive sets. :yeah:

This just about makes Kiefer as bad as Stephanek. There was no reason for him to be such an ass on court. Okay, the mental aspect is a part of the game, but to start getting in someone's face for no reason? That's not a mental thing, that's just being an ass.

Oh well, Chela will bludgeon him in the next round. Maybe spit on him.

I'm hoping JC is going to skip the indoor season and instead play the clay events this year.

Let him , anyway we won't see his name in any GS trophy or the number one spot ever.

Very good work from Kiefer to beat this assjerk Ferrero who think he can alwayss win with gamemanship tactics calling the trainer when he is in trouble, Ferrero is clearly the asshole among Spain players; Nadal, Ferrer or Moya would not do that never

I think I was dreaming when I saw that, called the trainer for fun to interrupt play when Kiefer was near to break

JC recently had a stomach muscle strain. Have you ever pulled a stomach muscle before? It's not a great feeling at all. And if JC did do it on purpose, so what? Kiefer started it first with choice words that were totally uncalled for.

The thing is Ferrero always does that when he is in trouble. Sure, he must call the trainer when he is down breakpoint or the fourth deuce in a game of his own facing defeat. Believe what you want  A lame try by Ferrero to make Kiefer choking lead :o

Well done Kiefer! :D He moved a bit better today, so I think we can be hopeful for the next match. imo Chela is easier to beat than Grosjean. Looks like a 4-setter to me, but of course he made all his QFs years ago, so I'm not sure if he will win.

Ferrero Forever
01-21-2006, 09:03 AM
Well Ferrero did nothing that's against the rules, quite a lot of the players seem to call the trainer when things get tough. I think the rule does need to be changed, as it isn't fair to the player who's winning. I've never heard about Kiefer being an asshole on court. What did Ferrero do that made Kiefer call him a prick? Thanks a lot to Channel 7 for not showing us what would have been at least a funny match up, instead we got the Coria-Grosjean replay. I really thought Ferrero would win this one, so I'm disappointed but at least he didn't lose any points and at least he did better than Lleyton Hewitt

imo the biggest reason for Kiefer's win was his serve. He won 87% on first serve with an average of 201km/h, while Ferrero's first serves were returnable most of the time.

Do you know that in Ferrero's 2nd round after calling trainer he lost 7 serve/return games in a row.I advise "non-injuried" him to call the trainer at when he faced the first bp in set 4 or the time kiefer will finish the match off in little point insead of when he was serving at 40-40.

I have to hand it to Kiefer. He served very well and took advantage of the indoor conditions. In the end, there wasn't much in it. Kiefer won one of his break point chances, in the 4th set, and JC didn't so it all comes down to who can take their chances.

I think JC lost a little bit of patience after Kiefer broke him in the 4th and it cost him. Having said that, if he could have found a way to hold his serve at 2-4 he might have found a way back. But ultimately, Kiefer was always going to have the advantage under the closed roof.

It looked like Kiefer had a few nasty words for Ferrero in this 7th game of the fourth set (in that Ferrero tried to take his timeout). I couldn't understand what he said because the crowd was still applauding after the point. I think it was because the point before Ferrero had suddenly a strange excessive groan while clearing an easy forehand from halfcourt and Kiefer maybe felt challenged by that in this important situation and a Kiefer on fire is for sure not the one who will bow down to that and dishes out himself. Overall not a big thing. The rest before Kiefer was swearing at himself about his game, that had absolutely nothing to do with Ferrero.

I don't know what happened there but I definitely prefer a player who comes out and yells at his opponent (afterall he's just being honest and letting his emotions out) than a player who gets behind the rules to use dirty tactics as calling the trainer and faking injuries to mine the concentration of the opponent. ;)

It's not whining or acting like a 11 year old, what Keifer did was rude and disresepectful whether he had done it to Juan Carlos or any other player.
In football these days a player can get done for what he did today, so he should just watch himself.

Relax, I've seen much worse things already, Ferrero is no angel either and has his own history of playing "dirty games". Kiefer sent a few angry looks over to Ferrero in this match, but after watching the scene a few times carefully I believe Kiefer didn't even mean to address Ferrero by this swearing, but meant himself because his ball was too short that Ferrero could clear easily which was another wasted chance for Kiefer at that time.

Kiefer acts like an ass, no doubt about it. I like Kiwi, but I don't like his antic and yelling fouls directly to his opponent. But he won the match with great play, that's no question too. I hope he gets deep into the tournament since he is really playing well.

I also don't think Juan Carlos is affected by Kiwi's antic. In fact, I'm a little disappointed that he is not more fire up by Kiwi's yelling and in-your-face attitude. He's just not playing as aggressive and confident as his opponent, I think he knows that and get frustrated. He has a long way to go to get back to the top. But as long as he is trying hard, which he is according to PMac who said he is very committed to get back to the top, I'm happy. And good luck to him in his next tournament.
