Haas V Kiefer SF?

Quite possible.

Kiefer should take care of Chela if he gets over Ferrero then he has either Mathieu or Grosjean in the quarters. Chela won't be able to handle the pressure.

If Haas can take care of Federer, he will beat Hrbaty or Davydenko and reach the semi's.

The two German's face off.

I'm quite liking this scenario.

LETS GO!

We'll see about Haas beating Fed.

I remember thinking Kiefer had a huge chance to make the 2004 USO semis out of the Henman quarter (after his great summer) but he kinda blew it... or did he retire against Henman in their R16 match? Anyway, I don't know if Kiefer has the mental fortitude.

He retired because he hurt his wrist against Henman, the injury took him out for the rest of the season, if I remember correctly. Then he had all sorts of bizarre treatments in freezers and whatnot.

not going to happen
Haas is playing offensive, but face Federer (very diffiuclt match)
Kiefer defensive, maybe wins to Chela, but not beyond

I dont think its going to happen even if I would like it
Germans are too incosistant in grand slams, cause they cannot be focused a whole two weeks - too much :cuckoo: :retard: going on in their heads

I think KIEFER was 2-0 sets and break up against Escude and lost it in the quarterfinal '98.

Haas should have won the whole tournament in 200*, but he choked against Safin in the semis.

Of course Kiefer is the best player in his quarter, but somehow I can't see him making the semis.

However much I'd love to see Haas make his mark, I don't think it'll happen. Look for the quarters to read: Federer vs Davydenko Chela vs Grosjean Ferrer vs Robredo Ljubicic vs Roddick For the 4th Round: Don't think the Federer pick is a surprise; Davydenko's efficiency will take care of tired Hrbaty in 3; Chela continues a run toward glory by taking care of Keifer in 3; Grosjean comes through in 4; Ferrer easily in straights (he'll lose the least amount of games); Robredo downs Nalbandian late in the fifth; Ljubicic blows Johansson off the court in 3; Roddick comes out slow and takes Baggy in 4 (the last two sets are blow outs). Federer vs Chela & Robredo vs Roddick in the semis. Go Andy through to the final!!! Anything can happen then!

In the first two sets of Federer vs Mirnyi, Federer has hit over 40 winners and only 5 unforced errors. Good a plyer as Haas is I think if Roger plays like this again he wins the match simple as that.

That's a nice german dream. That said, Haas is second favourite behind Federer to reach the semi. And there is noone clearly above everybody in the Chela/Kiefer/PHM/Grosjean part of the draw. Grosjean slightly favourite probably because he has been there before and seems to be very fit.
