MARCOS BAGHDATIS 5.630 | 1.160 ANDY RODDICK
IVAN LJUBICIC 1.526 | 2.650 THOMAS JOHANSSON
TOMMY ROBREDO 3.000 | 1.417 DAVID NALBANDIAN

If that is Davenport at around $1.40 I'll be putting that in a parlay quickly.

1.41! her last match was 3 sets tho.. I'm afraid of her inconsistency.. lost to sharapova 0-6, 0-6 last year?

Edit: mixed that up.. sharapova lost to davenport 0-6, 0-6

Davenport will win tomorrow and at those odds it's worth a parlay to juice up a parlay price.

Also Kuznetsova's game suits Lindsay more aswell, she's not as mobile n has a power game,Davenport's favourite kind of opponents :) Lindsay lost a set to someone who ran around like a rabbit n more then fustrate her with soft groundies,Davenport perfers it comin off the bat quick, you could say like Rusty but she wont say fix the courts up

Will think on it as Daniela could upset Sharapova.

Bet of the day = Ferrer at 1.44 (I think you can even get higher)

As much as love Santoro, he'll be knackered after the Gaudio marathon. It's gonna be scorching, and you don't get many cheap points against Ferrer, who should be pretty fresh.

My parlay is Ferrer (1.44) x Nalbandian (1.40) x Davenport (1.33)

I think Sharapova will win, the only reason Daniela beat Serena was due to the shocking performance of Serena, Daniela didn't even need to play well.

Value's with Fabrice and Robredo. Both stand virtually as good a chance of winning as their opponents. Tommy, Ferrer and Nalbandian are all suckers. Santoro does what he's expected to do. In a battle between two chokers like Nalbandian and Robredo, I'd much rather go for the value.

Horatio Caine

How I see today's winners:

Ferrer - Santoro was knackered after playing Gaudio - he really struggled with the heat whereas Ferrer got on with the task quickly and played a hughly impressive match. Add to that the fact Fab has played doubles as well - he shouldn't have much juice left. Also, he has never made QF and is playing his best opponent so far - should all be too much.

Bandy - The Spaniard won largely due to a poor performance by Blake, and an injury trouble for the American. He may be serving well, but Bandy will return well as well. Bandy seems to be the tennis Terminator - he keeps coming back! Bandy has won their last meetings...albeit 4 years ago. He performs better in the big events, in stark contrast to Robredo. Time for the choking Spaniard to pack his bags!

A - Rod - not much to say about this match. I think A-Rod will simply overpower Baggy. Baggy may be talented, but talent often goes out of the window when facing the biggest serve in the world. I also think Baggy might be the first to wilt in the heat.

Tojo - Ljubo won their last meetings, significantly, last year - and he seems just as good this year. I think Tojo might be fresher going into this, and Ljubo apparently has a blister problem on his feet, which could make life painful for him in the very hot conditions. This match could go down to the wire if it is outside, and I'd probably favour Tojo. But if it is held inside, and I think it might be, the nod would have to go to the Croat. Oh, and this is the furthest Ljubo has got in a Slam...time to depart!! I might chuck a few coins on the Swede.

I just picked up this parley.. so safe and secure:

Davenport x Sharapova @ 1.74

Not placing big wages on this.. I'm scared as hell of WTA bets but if things go as planed should both be easy straight set wins! Sharapova is on another class compared to Hantu..

Er, Robredo's strangely high ranking is more or less precisely because of his good record in the Grand Slams (his choking being most frequent in the smaller tournaments) - so I'm surprised you can say that.

I bet on a mixed doubles match S.ASPELIN/M.SHAUGHNESSY 2 days ago and it was suspended due to the heat at 1 game to 1............I still have no clue when they'll resume as it's not scheduled AGAIN today.

The Australian Open has gone great thus far, with me being up $9630 with a nice $1500 cash in from Nicolas Kiefer yesterday.

Roddick over Baghdatis in Straight sets @ +122 - $200 to win $224
Yeah, Baghdatis is great and all that, but he's not a match for Roddick yet. Roddick has been in great form and his serving is just amazing. In his match against Benneteau, he had four aces on his first five serves. His second serve is also kicking up about five feet off the ground, so I don't like Marcos' chances of breaking serve. The verdict is Roddick in straight sets, with maybe one 7-5 or 7-6 set.

Davenport over Kuznetsova @ -222 - $500 to win $225
I can't believe how much value there is on Davenport, this is essentially free money, but I don't want to risk too much as Kuznetsova's in good form and Davenport got stretched to three by Kirilenko.

That's all for now, but I am looking into Santoro over Ferrer and Johansson over Ljubicic for small bets, but not entirely sure. I'll probably do some live betting if Johansson or Santoro go up an early set or so.

Good hands.

I already went with small wager on Davenport x Sharapova..

I think I'm just going to lay medium bets on straight wagers: Ferrer and Davenport. Too risky to do anymore parleys as lots of these matches could end up as coin flips.

01-21-2006, 10:36 PM
The title should be called "suckers sunday" with the number of low priced favs on the mens side....

recap on yesterday, coria was never in that match, poor selection there, andreev inexplicably collapses after leading 4-1 0-30 in the 5th set. That last point sums it all where he effectively handed the match to hrbaty by not even bothering to return his serve, what a f**king dick. But hey, shit like that will happen from time to time, just hope the gambling gods remember to even up the ledger as the season progresses. If the odds are generous, I am tempted to make my biggest bet of the Open on Donkey next round, Hrbaty's houdini acts can't last for much longer. Kiefer did save my day at least with an easy win over the has been ferrero.

Today is a joke, I would say Ferrer, Nalbandian and Ljubicic will all win, but odds of $1.40 or less for all 3 of them is ridiculous. Might do a bit of live betting, especially in the bandy and ljubicic matches as I don't see either of them winning in straight sets and as a result should give ample opportunity for some decent trading.

I'm going to throw a few coins on Baghdatis to beat Roddick @ $6.00 but other than that, sit back and watch the tennis.

good luck with your bets today.

It's simple, when they put the players in, they put Petrova where her opponent was meant to be and put her opponent next to Petrova's prices.

Just analysed Ljubicic x Johansson - I think Tojo is well worth a few coins @ 2.50. His serving has been better and more effective than Ivan's. Granted, Ivan has done better in hitting more winners and fewer UEs, but he is also coming up against his toughest opponent of the tournament. This is unchartered territory for the Croat...the surface isn't his favourite, and Tojo has been all the way here before, and had his best results outdoors. The history between them shows that Ivan has won their last 2 meetings in close encounters indoors. Otherwise, Tojo has triumphed twice outdoors...albeit 4 years ago.

Outside it is 45C and inside the Rod Laver Arena / Vodafone Arena it is 35C.
It will help Ljubicic as the court will get faster. If they would play outside, it would be as slow as RG plays. But now, it is pretty fast, not "real" indoor conditions.

Who says you need to serve excellent? I mean, Karlovic should be no.1 then, or even Roddick!:tape: I saw pieces of the Malisse match and there he didn't play bad but still showed that he basically can't handle big strokes. He might be a good returner, but against Ljubicic you need to get a chance to bring it back. And you know that Ljubicic can fire serval return winners in one game!;) The other bets are not really predictable. Anyway, good luck with your bets:) :wavey:

Now that Roddick is out of the way - when Haas gets past Federer tomorrow, this will be Haas's title.

Check the other sports thread under the VB Series Game 5.

One of my predictions there make up for my lost parlays. The second could very well come home.

I need to stop placing wagers to recover from same day loses..

Well my results for the day:

Roddick x Ferrer x Bryan Brothers @1.94

Petrova vs Vesnina under 18 games @1.833

Roddick x Jrjokman/Mirnyi x Davenport @2.02

Davenport x Sharapova @1.74

Davenport @ 1.455

Ferrer @ 1.355

Nalbandian @ 1.444

Tojo @ 2.750

Overall results for the day: broke just about even... if Tojo wins will be up, if Tojo loses will be down..

I'm never placing this many wages again.. another lesson learned :)

One more time you go head 2 head with me, how were the last results when you did it? It's indoors today And Ljubo showed how he can break serve and return. He won 50% of Feli's serve.
 That was too easy, but I will take it! 6-2 6-4 6-4

Then again I like Bandy in 4 sure

Not impressed by Nalbi but Robredo will choke. Simple as that.

Mate, you're a clown.

Nalbo played some brilliant stuff to overrun Jarkko, and played equally well when he destroyed Robredo in the first 2 sets of their match.

It helps to know what you're talking about before you post next time.
