At least, one...

I'm in no way his fan (on the opposite), but after watching his interview, I just got this hunch that this will be his year. He will win his second GS title and possibly 3rd.

So, mark my words. :wavey:

wow why so pessimistic, Andy's fans?b/c hard work doesn't translate to grand slam wins. His problems last year were more mental than physical and working hard in the gym and on the track is great but it won't give him confidence to play well and play his game in big matches. And til he can do that he's not gonna win a slam lol

even if he has 6 weeks isnt going to cover the 2 years of partying, lazy ass pizza eating & a dangerous charity addiction. not in the short term. who made roddick mother theresa?

This year is the year.

I think he takes one for sure, and I don't think this should be a suprise to anyone. Andy is one of those guys who has been in contention for the big titles for years so the fact that he breaks through and gets another one, it shouldn't be a shocker. Yea I think this could be his year after such a bad one last year, these things work in cycles I know.

Everyone loses, Andy hasn't had a win over Roger in awhile, surely you wouldn't be so short sighted to think he doesn't have the game to do it.

i think he can win one this year(definitely not two). the biggest thing he needs to do though is not be content with banging his way through easy early round matches. i don't doubt that he's been working on improving his game in practice, and you see it from time to time but he needs to consistently use times when he has a huge lead to experiment a bit more; if he can't practice it against easier opponents and gain confidence he'll never be able to do it against the bigger names. until he does that he'll keep sailing past easy opponents and stumbling when it gets to the big matches.

I thought Andy would win the U.S. Open 2004 and then again the A.O. 2005. He had excellent chances in both cases but it did not happen. He is a contender, so i hope he will make it at some point. Why not A.O. 2006? :)

Folding like a French solider after losing the 1st set to Roger would indicate yes he doesn't believe that he has the game to do it.

Seriously? I have to object I'm afraid. If Federer plays well against Roddick he eases to victory whatever court they're playing on. Roddick will not beat Federer unless Fed plays badly. He isn't as good a player and his game plays into rogers hands.

andi has got to last stages quite a lot in the slams so why not
but I dont think that it is because of the preparation of "last 6 weeks". 6 weeks is good, but guys are training 6 months to get better, change their games and so on
andi should be contender in 3 out of 4 slams, and if he can get to later stages then anything is possible.
However, it is still worisome that he can lose in early rounds of U.S.O and F.O. but i n wimbledon and melbroune, he has very good chances

I support Andy when he plays, but I really don't think that Andy could be a rival for Roger at least for the moment, sorry ;)

I think he will win one this year. My only guess- not the French! :) I think that Wimbledon and the US Open are his best chance.

He is looking really good here at the Aussie Open – and could very well win, but I think his section is getting tougher by the day. Ivan is playing well and can do his own great serve thing, David is starting to really get into his form (he played some awesome tennis against Jarkko last night) and is one of the best returners in the game imo. I do think Andy will beat Marcos, but I think it will be a good match and certainly no cake-walk. One thing that will help Andy against Ivan and David (if he plays them) is that he has been able to cross that last hurdle in a Grand Slam, while the other have not and have at times folded under pressure.

It is an interesting thought - imagining Roddick with a GS win. It seems to be eeriely similar to the hype surrounding Nadal after his French Open win - except that Roddick hasn't won the AO yet. Some of Nadal's detractors pointed out that he hadn't proven himself against the top players on other surfaces and to some extent, the same argument holds true for Andy. He has had mental issues against the top players and if he gets over that hurdle, he has a good chance but at this time it is more wait and watch for me.

It's possible. I was thrilled Safin won AO 2005 but annoyed at the same time that Roddick blew a magnificent chance to win another Slam since it was well within his abilities to beat Hewitt and Safin.

I'll wait on Haas vs Federer (if it happens) before I make final predictions. But I bet Roddick will make the final and Ljubicic will not be a huge obstacle.

Tojo will be playing Andy! How many times do I have to say this? I also think Tojo will give him a good match.

Safin on form is better than Roddick.
