Arrgghh, nice one Seb, real nice...

I'm not gonna blame Tim for this one, let me hear what Seb says in his interview but for now it's all Seb's fault! :bigcry:

:banghead: :banghead:
I'm so freaking MAD right now! How could he throw away his first match in Bercy??? Yeah, right, so Thierry Tulasne thought he was fresh and in great shape and really motivated for this tournament - Please, dont' make me laugh! Giving it all away like a...free buffet - and to Tim Henman, all-round nice guy, but not really in his league! What a SAD DEPRESSING PATHETIC end to Grosjean's 2003 campaign. He's got no one to blame but himself, and that's what really pisses me off!

I think you'll find Henman has beaten Grosjean three times in the past, including this year on clay. He is most certainly in the same league.

10-29-2003, 07:51 PM
He is, in fact didn't he like double bagel him in Germany?

edit: Hamburg TMS, Clay, R32 6-0 3-6 6-2, well close enough...

Although Grosjean's groin injury did recur during that match, hence the crushing one-sidedness of the first set... Henman certainly played well, though. Look at it this way: Grosjean's win in the Wimbledon QF knocked Henman out of the Top 30, so at least this bit of revenge won't have done too much harm to Grosjean's ranking.

Guys, don't be so hard on Seb. I'm sure he's sad enough to have disappointed his home crowd. And he's mad at himself too, I'm sure he didn't plan to lose today. His serve was under a lot of pressure today bcos Tim was coming to the net all the time especially on Seb's second serve.

Well, anywayz, I'm very sad that he lost and I really want to give him a big hug.

Totally agree with you there Vera :)

I'm not mad with him,but I am disappointed  He certainly doesn't need any anger directed at him by his fans  ,I always thought a fan supported a player whatever the result, not just when they win

C'mon guys, you sound like the British press

Ah well, what we say in anger...let's put it like this: I always support my favourites,I will love Grosjean even if he never wins another title - but I so want him to win and shine in every tournament he plays, I put heart & soul into his every match, and when I see that he had several breakpoints and still managed to lose I do tend to get all worked up! I certainly have no intention to sound like the British press! And in the light of day, I even have to admit that Henman is in Grosjean's league and that the Brit must have played well and been very agressive at the net to beat our guy...Still don't like it one bit, but now at least he can go on holiday and look forward to 2004. I know I look forward to seeing him again...

Apparently he was so disgusted with how he played that he threw his racquets in the bin when he got into the change room.
(For once Im in the know when it comes to Seb ;) -Thanks Eurosport)

Some good news perhaps????

They will be interviewing Seb on the ATP Tennis Show next week.....maybe some of you get it I don't know?!

the only good news is that he said his first tourney next year will be Doha,Qatar and Eurosport shows it every year! ;)

Oh, poor Grosjean! Must be awful to lose like that...but fully understand if he was pretty mad at himself! What a way to exit Bercy! Not the best end to 2003. But ok, 2004 will hopefully be HIS YEAR, with Olympics and everything. I'm keeping my hopes high! And cheers to Eurosport if they keep up the tradition and show Doha, Qatar!

Ups, Lizabeth, ATP Tennis Show? Tell me more. Is it a channel devoted entirely to tennis or is it a show on another channel? By the way, the only sports channel I can take is Eurosport so won't do me any good unless they interview Grosjean on that very channel...My fingers are crossed!

And no more Spaniards either! Ferrero lost to Novak. Oh God! I simply can't face another big win to Andy Roddick! Why can't he be the first to retire before he's 22..? But my dear Nalbandian has qualified to Masters, only hope his injury will not bother him.

Well, although I'm still pissed off, I'm not mad. That first message was like 1 minute after the match and things got a bit tense and stuff. Anyway, when you really support someone, you want them to succeed always. So really, I don't see how fans always have to go easy on their players when they screw up. Ok, granted, I'm not sure if Seb really screwed up but still, it's all in the game. However, do not fear, my appreciation of Seb hasn't changed. I still love him to bits :smooch:

yeah, God forbid another tourney, much less a masters, go to roddick...contrary to what people say, since he paired up with brad gilbert (my hero after his work with agassi...cant believe he paired up with this brat), his temper tantrum-prone attitude hasnt gotten better, its just been replaced with egotistical condescension.....i think he's such an ass on and off the court (have u heard some of his press conferences?? soo cocky and rude)...and he should take a lesson or two -actually quite a few- from guga or someone about etiquette on the court...speaking of which he lost to henman...i feel bad about being happy for henman (i love kuerten too), but i hope henman derails federer!

Lindsayfan

henman wont derail federer, unless federer is tired or injured.

It's only a show...but still good sometimes!! :) It's a weekly show and they recap the tournaments from the previous week...usually the semi finals and final of the tournament....and there is always an interview of some sort with a player :) Also they have play of the day (same as one of ATP site) and other random stuff.....

We get it on ESPN here but I don't think Eurosport gets it....There is a listing on ATP website and it says what country gets it and which channels so maybe check it out!!! :D

Yeah, Sjengster, why don't you go to the Henman board and start a thread there. We should get some actoin going there instead of bothering obvious Henman-dislikers here.

tennisstar059
10-31-2003, 05:41 PM
ok my bad...it isnt a henman forum....but just to point out, schengster wasnt disliking henman,,,,henman LEADS federer head-to-head matches 4-1...so he was pointing out in answer to lindsay's comment about henman not being able to beat federer that the record indicates he could....just FYI

Sjengster
10-31-2003, 09:44 PM
Yes exactly, I wasn't the one who started talking about Henman and Federer, I just pointed out their record. And with regard to tonight's match, I hate to say I told you so, but...

enough, let's go to the Henman forum. I'm a big fan of his but the rest of Seb's girls are not.

Okay, Paris wasn't a great experience, but at least Rotten Andy won't win it! Henman vs. Pavel, I hope Henman gets the title - coz it looks so much better to lose to the overall winner, right?

Alison

And so he did! Henman won Paris, his first Masters Series title I'm told. I must confess I rather like Henman, I like someone who can perform that well under the kind of pressure he experiences every summer - and it looks like he was on fire during this tournament, still can't bear to think of Grosjean losing to him, though...now Henman leads 4-3 over Grosjean, right?
