OMG did anyone just see that? Point of the tournament!

Anyone just see the point between Santoro and Gaudio, set point at 40-15 in the 2nd set? Unreal :worship: surely the best point of the championship.

I was going to start a thread on a distinctly similar theme, so to speak. Absolutely sublime, one of the best points I've seen for quite some time.

 it was similar to the Hewitt v Fed point in the TMS final last year. Shots through the legs from both players, awesome stuff :)

Yeah, I wasn't exactly surprised/floored by the prospect of Santoro succeeding in it (cue the through the legs-shot against Federer during US Open last year), I was more like expecting it, but then Gaudio responded in fashion and it just went on from there and turned into some crazy crescendo of awe-inspiring proportions. So awesome.

Me too MisterQ, but we can't cuz we barely have any coverage here in the US.

And even if we did, do you think we'd get to see Gaudio/Santoro? Not...

Yea it was an awesome point.

Gaudio to make it 40-30, then Fab served an ace take the set after the epic point

It was nice, but Santoro relaxed after that drop volley, way before the point was over. Against fast players like Gaston or Nadal, that's a crime

Yes, the best point I've seen probably since that 45-shot rally from Federer vs Hewitt at Indian Wells, just AMAZING. to both players!

I saw it live... I was like "OMG"... But at that moment I was pissed that Santoro hadn't won the point, winning the match was far more important actually :D
It'll be undoubtedly the best point of the tournament ;)

Awesome  :worship:. And I confess, I was happy Gaudio won it. He needed something to lift him up. It was the first time he smiled during the match. :)

So sorry he lost but really thrilled for Fabricio, le seigneur.

When he's agressive, it's a joy, when he returns two meters behind the baseline, it's crime. Altought i disagree with Hewitt if Gaston was returning that far and doing fine, AO has to be really, really slow :scared:

Also another point that was pretty cool: Xavier Malisse's move during the match against Thomas Johansson. (also low quality images)

both Santoro and Gaudio loves doing "crazy" things during matches. I think ESPN+ will repeat this one at 16hs Argentina (GMT-3). I have just came from vacations and was going to see matches results but ESPN+ was showing Nalby vs Jarkko replay and I catched it from first game of first set (i dunno why that always happends hahah) so, thanks them :)

did some remember "gran gaudio's" shot last year against Hrbaty and ¿Hanescu?... I dunno who was the other player, but against the 2nd (not hrbaty) was a winner :)

got it on video luckily. A brilliant point. If you have downloaded it or have it on tape also then check out the final shot of the point and look at the way Gaudios racket twists. Simply a brilliant display of individual skill.

This should never be allowed to die this clip and I have it saved, even if some clown tries to take it down from youtube.

This match was played in such great spirit and both players got a standing ovation after that.

No brainless ball bashing here.

His set point for second set against Blake was absolutely amazing too, Blake hit a smash, and Santoro came running up and smashed it back at his feet

But they will use Tommy haas for play of the week.
