... to reach the final vs King Roger?
This half of the draw seems to be wide open. :D
Among these contenders, who do you think will win his next 4 matches to make it to a Grand Slam final?
Vote and discuss! :wavey:

If you pick "other", please precise the player ;)

In keeping with the tradition of the AO, which has brought us Enqvist, Schuettler, Clement and Martin, I've got 1a Robredo or 1b Nieminen.

I'm impressed with the way Roddick plays in his first two matches, so i'm going to say it's him.

Most likely Roddick, but could be Nalbandian or a surprise a la Blake or Ljubicic. Hopefully Robredo, Baghdatis or Mathieu, lol.

I disagree, the bottom half isn't as easy as some may think. Roddick is still incensed over his USO first round loss and wants to atone for it...Nalbandian was the only one to beat Roger in a final and seems to have found his groove...Ljubicic, the DC hero of Planet Croatia, has for the first time in his career made it to the third round of a slam...Johansson is a former AO champion...Ancic seems to have given up the choking act for the time being...and Blake is picking off titles whereever he can find them and believes that he can contend for this slam. Basically, this is a group full of guys who feel that they have something to prove. A great second week coming right up, I hope. :)

That is, unless I've completely misinterpreted your post then never mind what I just said.

not counting the 3rd round at USO2005, or AO few years ago :wavey:

For much as I like Roddick's fans, sorry but I won't like him to go to the finals..
I prefer Nalbandian, Blake, or someone else

Nalby as he is the most talented, confident, in-form, motivated player in the bottom half.

All you damn Andy fans are so optimistic.

We all know he's gonna get his ass handed to him by Ivan.

Don't hold your breath. Ivan doesn't make GS 4th rounds, let alone finals. Meanwhile, someone has actually won here before.

Ivan has never been seed 7th or top 10 in GS before. Ivan would have Ad vs Tojo if they play in 4th. just like last 2 matchs h2h

I think Ivan will get to the final, go 2 sets up against Federer (with a match point) and then lose.

Competition is tight between Nalby and Roddick!
Will there be a rematch of USO SF 2003?

Nalby as he is the most talented, confident, in-form, motivated player in the bottom half.

Agreed. And just to add- most dangerous :yeah:

I will go further out on a limb and make some predictions about the bottom half of the draw- I have a feeling Tojo will take out Ivan and Roddick and will lose in 4 sets in the semifinal to Nalbandian.

I would have said nalbandian, but he doesnt seem to be playing that well from what I have heard. But hes still winning, so hopefully he will pick it up. I think if david plays roddick, hes gonna beat him! Hopefully marcos will do that job for him

Realistically, I think Ljubicic has a great chance to win the bottom half draw. The only person I can see standing in his way, maybe Roddick, and that would be an interesting match. What about a Federer vs. Ljubicic final? Not exactly what I would want, but still very possible, and probably a good match?

Ivan will make it the quarters, and then be so happy just to be in his first quarter-final, that he will end up throwing away the match. And that's really only if he even makes it to the quarters.

It'll be Andy in the final.
