So what does anyone know about Hanescu? He's tall, obviously, but what kind of game does he bring? How does he match up against Andy on the fast carpets?

Well, he made the third round at both Roland Garros and Wimbledon -- both times having played the qualies! So he can obviously play on anything.

I don't know anything about his game, though. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Tall guy, big server. That's what I hear. I've never seen him.

Stop rushing again
Courageous comeback, Andy

he better start getting first serves in or he'll be going home soon. he's VERY Lucky that he won the first set with 46% of his 1st serves.

I read that Andy was getting really mad at himself. I don't like that.

4-4... Andy up 30 love on the other guy's serve. BREAK!!

REally crappy serving from Andy and meanwhile the other guy is serving great.

phew he won 7-6(4), 7-6(4). why is Andy's serving % this bad? i mean its indoors, isnt it the IDEAL place for serving??? he's going to really have to pick it up here, he's not making it easy on himself, but its good that he's winning these tough matches when he isn't playing so great, it helps with the confidence. now he's got Robredo, one of his 'bitches' who he's never lost to, not even a set:lol: good luck Andy, and play better, and especially get that serve % higher:bounce:

No kidding.... he HAS to do better....

Luckily for him he is playing Robredo, who has never even won a set off him in 5 meetings on all kinds of diff. surfaces (even clay, I believe!) so Andy should be confident going into this one.

The reason why he messed up serves:
He wants aces & is unwilling to play
well constructed points. That NO SLAM WINNER coach won't
teach him, stop trying to end points
in 1 or 2 shots! You've won 68 matches...
you're not 18 anymore, EEEEEH! WAKE UP, don't smash that racquet, you so-called calmer, Brad-influenced airhead!!! Win the 7th event!!!!

He's made it TOO close again, playing against someone ranked outside the top 70.

Carpet is ideal for the server, yes...but it doesn't matter if the server can't serve at all. ;)

Now we don't want to jinx Andy here. Yes he's never lost so much as a set to Robredo in all of their previous meetings...but then again he wasn't playing like an ass. Just think Nalbandian, when Roddick used to crush him in straight sets, and then look what happened...

He needs to start off by being calmer on the court and not revert back to the 2001 version of himself throwing rackets when things aren't going his way. Brad...where are you???

He needs to stop getting a big ego because
he won a slam. No one's gifting him a win just because he's below his usual self. He's still better than Nalbandian even after
playing crappy in Basel. You know he's not handing
a win to David again.

I must be an astrologer
because he's playing too passively & doesn't correct
his mistakes---stop clapping & smirking at your
opponent so much & letting your mind wander!
Remember how he kept looking at the crowd & at the screen above
at the U. S. Open? *rolls eyes*

Play aggressively DAMN IT!

In his own words, "that guy is serving out of a tree."
