I am very excited to just find out that Hingis and Bhuphati are pairing up together in the Mixed Doubles!

Here's hoping they can take the title although they face a tough path with an early clash against the #2 seeds Bjorkman/Raymond.

they'll do well and I think will get past Bjorkman/Raymond. Hingis.. well we all know how good a doubles player she is and Mahesh is up there with the best men's in mixed. Might even be another addition to their GS portfolios.

Hingis is so awesome, she restored my faith in women's tennis. I watched her match the other night and I laughed my ass off as took that chick apart.

I mean, she's not Patty...but she has my heart all the same.

She lacks Patty's amazing hair. But she's so snarktastic and awesome that it almost makes up for that. She needs to keep a hat on though because her forehead is deserving of it's own zip code.

I hope so, but doubt that I will get live coverage. I get taped ESPN... like, I get stuff that you get live, much much later :(

That's not a mixed doubles title (ie: in a slam). It's not even a tour title ;) It is interesting though, so thanks for the reminder :)

Bhupathi has won five mixed doubles titles with five different partners.

Hingis & Johnny Mac made a formidable mixed doubles team during WTT last summer. I think by the end of it he was trying to talk her into teaming up at some of the slams.

I recorded the Hingis/Bhuphapit v Stubbs/Perry QF last night and also got their first round match.

Unfortunately we didn't get their match against Bjorkman/Raymond but I was lucky to watch it live at Melbourne when I was down there. Loved it.

Doesn't look like we will get a broadcast of the Semi as they are on Rod Laver arena at a time that Channel 7 isn't broadcasting unfortunately. What a bummer as this match up against Stosur/Hanley might be a good one.

Go Hingis, make the final so most of us can watch you in action again! :)

By the way, which one of them is better? Paes or Bhupathi? That's a toss-up in my opinion. Both are outstanding, very aggressive at net...and really have the knack to make their partners shine while quietly being the foundation for the team.

Paes is a better overall player. He has one won singles title in Newport and was also junior Wimbledon and I think also U.S. open junior champion. Look at the other junior champs like Federer, Nalbandian, Coria and now Monfils and Baghdadis. He is in good company. :D
But Bhuphati is good too in doubles and is also a great businessman. He is or was the manager of Sania Mirza among other things.

Tennis wise Paes is a smarter player, one of the better dubs brains going around at the moment

For pulling in the hot bollywood chicks, got to give the nod to Paes though Bhupati is is giving Paes a run for his money these days...

They actually won??? FAN-tastic!!! I'm on the East Coast in the US, too bad they couldn't show the match; trying to stay up till 3:30AM for the Men's Final. But I'm so glad Martina snagged herself a title in her first slam back; wtach, she'll probably belt a real Grand Slam in mixed this year!!! Positively wonderful to have you back Swissie, and keep going!!!

Decent for a doubles specialist. I think one of the Woodies from Australia made it to either a 4th or Quarter in singles at a GS once; but Paes has had a normal and respectable record, I think, similar to the Woodies or any other doubles specialist on tour.
