When I see this score and I remember that he denied Ljubicic the Paris title, I just :shout:

This is Tomas, be prepared for a bumpy ride. I like to keep things in perspective, he has already improved his previous best result in the A.O. Besides, it is not over yet.

Gilles doesn't like winning in 4 sets, so we will see.

He was a break down in the 3rd and then it looked like he was making a come-back.
Too bad. I was looking forward to a repeat of the AMS Paris final.

Impressive stats for Simon, he hit more winners than Berdych  After the first round, he was completely exhausted and couldn't move, I never thought he would be able to beat Tomas. That's a great surprise :p

Another unexpected result for me. I really thought that Berdych was going to get a couple of rounds further.

Berdych played like Melzer against Ginepri.
Gilles Simon is a crafty little thing.... smart shots, lobs that actually work (and over Berdych, WTF)... He's awesome, you guys should check him out. He impressed me after a few games against Massu, and I'd like to see him progress :)

That's bad, Tomas. And I didn't even get to see him. I too thought he was going to go further, didn't think he could go all the way, but definitely do some damage in the draw. Wel, next time.

Well done to Simom, though. Two good wins in a row :yeah:

Simon played very well and Berdych showed why he can be a Berdbrain in this match.

This is the take off of his career :yeah:
Great for French tennis as well! When Monfils and Gasquet aren't there, some show up ;)
That's nice

Berdych is overrated very much
I dont think he is a player for that conditions with hot weather and sun like Australia has (Murray also has troubles with that)

No surprise. Berdych hasn't improved much over the last 2 years. He's a headcase and always will be.

Simon, but that was a good job kicking out Berdych! Congrats to you :yeah:

A real surprise because Simon was really exhausted after his first round. But apart from that, not that much. I never believed that Berdych had made his breakthrough yet, his only good (very good) last year was in Paris.
I have serious doubt about him. I fear a Malisse/Verdasco path for him (of course these 2 players can still prove me wrong).

i was sure he could make it, it's very weird because gilles fights hard to beat the 325 ranking, but crashes out n°20!! anyway, i'm so happy, good luck for next round!

I'm just watching Martina Hingis... she served once at 180 km/h :p

when you consider the 1st serve speed of Simon against Berdych yesterday ....139-147-184.... even 124 km/h. I better understand Berdych when he says about Simon : "I don't like his style," "He serves one, two, three serves hard, and then he serves one like he's throwing it with his hand...."

I just hope Simon's idol isn't Michael Chang with his service "à la cuillère" ;)
