Tommy why do you keep firing Red and re-hiring him?

Tommy you used to own Andy Roddick now you are his bitch can you explain the turn around?

Tommy why did you cut your hair? You look like a boob!

Tommy do you hate the color green? Cuz all the tournements where the players get alot of green for winning you never do well.

hahaha...aww...that's enough for now.

I've gotta agree with deb here. I wasn't really feeling much one way or the other about his haircut when I saw the photos. But when I saw him in action against Gasquet and then during the ESPN interview, I thought it looked mighty nice, mighty nice indeed. insert catcall whistle here

If you are gonna dog the hair- be sure that your references are in conjunction with each other. Miami Vice hair is very 1980s- not 1970s. ;) :p

And nothing you say Fumus will dissuade me from thinking that his new hair cut is quite tasty. :D

Someone should ask if it's true what they say:

Haas, Tommy – Horndog. Pretty boy. Arrogant at times. Uses his 6 inches to advantage but can be selfish. Practices safe sex.

SportsNation Tommy Haas: (6:01 PM ET ) Hello everyone. Welcome from Melbourne. It's 10 a.m. over here. Let's go this. I just finished breakfast and I'm getting ready to practice and relaxing for tomorrow's match.

Tess, Pasadena, CA: Tommy, You've been doing really well in 2006 -what will be your focus this year and how is it different from last year?

SportsNation Tommy Haas: (6:02 PM ET ) Well, to be honest, the end of 2005 was tough for me on the court since I didn't have a coach at that time. After I won the Davis Cup with Germany I was not really motivated for the rest of 2005. Ever since I got a new coach and perspective, I've really just felt refreshed and working on new things and focussing hard during my matches.

Katia B. (Russia): What do you consider your best shot? and if you could have someone else's best shot, what would it be?

SportsNation Tommy Haas: (6:03 PM ET ) My best shot is probably the backhand down the line when I have enough time to rip it. If I could have someone else's big weapon ... hmm ... tough one, there are so many. I think I would actually like to have Roger Federer's footwork since he is so smooth around the court.

Owen (Philly): Paul Goldstein is your next opponent, have you ever played him before?

SportsNation Tommy Haas: (6:04 PM ET ) Yes, I have. Actually the first time was 12 years ago in Hawaii which he won 6-1 in the third. I think we played a few times since then. He is a great competitor. Last year was the best of his life. This will be a tough match.

Renato (Sao Paulo, Brazil): Tommy, after such a strong start of season (reaching semi-finals in Doha and beating Federer in Kooyong), people are considering you the most dangerous floater on the Aus. Open draw, as well as the strongest dark-horse to take the title. How are you coping with such expectations?

SportsNation Tommy Haas: (6:05 PM ET ) Really well. I feel honored in some ways. People are thinking that in someway I'm great, that makes me feel good. I'm honored. I just have to focus on each and every match. That's really all I can worry about.

maria: Tommy--is it really you? Is it true you are having a blast in Australia?

SportsNation Tommy Haas: (6:06 PM ET ) Yes it is really me. THis is a blast, it's always a great time here in Melbourne. The weather is nice, the people are nice, this tournament is just fantastic.

Jody (Brooklyn, NU): Who cut your hair?

Diane, NY: Looks like you're making a fresh start for 2006- new coach, new haircut (sob!) I don't see anything to hold you back from getting back in the top 10 do you????

SportsNation Tommy Haas: (6:07 PM ET ) I cut it off after my last tournament last year in Munich. I just needed a new look in the mirror of Tommy Haas. I needed a change. I did enjoy the ponytail while I had it, but it started to bother me a little bit and I needed a change.

catwoman (Gotham City): How's fluffy?

SportsNation Tommy Haas: (6:08 PM ET ) Fuffy is great! He's my cat. He's waiting for me to come back from Aussie ... hopefully not too soon. He's in Florida. My good friend takes care of him while I"m gone.

Vinnay (90210): What's your favourite food? Nice haircut btw, you look hot, yo!

SportsNation Tommy Haas: (6:08 PM ET ) Thank you. My favorite food is, I always like to come home to my mom's cooking. She makes one of the best weiner schnitzel with roasted potatos! My mama's home cooking is great!

Alex (Florianopolis, Brazil): Do you think you can beat Federer again this year, this time at the Aussie Open (if you both qualify for the Round of 16) ?

SportsNation Tommy Haas: (6:09 PM ET ) First of all ... I would just like to get there. It would be a great match up I think in the round of 16. If we get there, he will be the favorite, of course, but I like my chances.

Mitya (Moscow): What's your biggest goal/dream in tennis? World number 1 spot, a Grand Slam or Davis Cup?

SportsNation Tommy Haas: (6:10 PM ET ) It's always been to win a Grand Slam since I was a young boy. That's my dream. ... In life, the most important thing is to stay healthy, happy and do the things you want to do.

SportsNation Tommy Haas: (6:11 PM ET ) Thanks so much for logging on and having a chat with me. Unfortunately, I have to go and practice now to make sure I'm ready for Paul Goldstein tomorrow ... which isn't an easy task. Thanks again for all the support. Until next time!
