since i was the one who started the whole beck thing on this forum.......

beck has to appear in front of independent commission
itf sources say that beck will have to get one heck of a lawyer to get him out of this trouble

as most of you know
beck was nominated to play in the final, but he was ˝injured˝ during warm upīs, and he didnīt play any rubber

from slovak sources - reason why he didnīt play isnīt marijuana, but nandrolone
he was positve on that substance during tie with argentina
that means argentinians were robbed of a chance to play for davis cup title

beckīs hearing will be held soon
if they decide that he did the offence, he will probably get 2 years ban

and about canas......
as we all know he is serving 2 years ban
he was allegedly in panama where he played some exibition
that info has not been confirmed yet, but if itīs tue, canas will be fined for that

Canas is conducting a tennis clinic in Panama since the past week or so. It has been published by the Argentine press.

I donīt know exactly how it works, but there are (certain ones or all of them?) exhibitions Caņas is allowed to play . Itīs pretty public he played at least 2 exhibitions tournaments in the last months in Argentina (BTW, he won the "Abierto de la Patagonia").

ah. Beck. Too bad.

The doping just makes victories suspect and the worst is you never really know which way it would have gone with out the use.

Caņas has played an exhibition in Panama during the last days but how could that be a reason to be fined for?

BTW about Caņas' appeal, I have read somewhere that during this week there might be some news about this issue.

Hm, I also thought that Canas would be for sure allowed to play some exhibitions. That's strange, but I don't know the exact rules on that. Maybe not one of these 'more official' ones, but at least some.

I'm under the impression that most exhibitions are not sanctioned by the ATP. If so, then he wouldn't be fined.

No, I understand. I guess we all need clarification on what the rules say. Apparently, he's allowed to participate in the exhibitions.
