Hanescu-Coria or is it really Dementieva-Myskina?

The Hanescu Coria match can best be understood by recalling any one of the numerous Elena Dementieva Anastasia Myskina matches. Forget for a moment that Hanescu is rather tall for a russian woman and that Coria is not quite so cute.

Not for the first time Dementieva (Coria) is struggling with her serve, so far, after 114 mins, she has managed 14 double faults while winning just 38 % of points on serve.

The dark haired beauty Myskina (Hanescu) is less trouble by getting the serve in play but is almost as hopeless at winning her serve, having been broken 6 times so far.

Second serves are not fairing well. Only 28% of second serves are being won by the server. Dementieva now up to 16 double faults (I'll have to type faster)

The generosity of both players is frankly astounding. Neither has shown much desire to win the match, doing their absolute best to keep their opponent in rallies they should have lost long ago.

I didn't see it but apparently Dementieva hit an ace.

Having watched many encounters between these two before I know it is almost impossible to predict the final result. The finishing line is often the most difficult hurdle as nerves overcome both players making them unable to hit even the simplist of shots.

So what if the standard of play is somewhat erratic? The drama is fantastic.
