Steven Martens announced his selection for the barrage Daviscup-tie against Zimbabwe in September:
- Xavier Malisse
- Olivier Rochus
- Gilles Elseneer
- Tom Vanhoudt
I hope they win, so they can play in the world group again next year! :bounce:
I should be quite dissappointing for Christophe to see Gilles take "his" place in the team. But I think it might be the good decision for this tie (isn't it played on grass or indoor? Gilles should maybe have a better chance on these surfaces than Christophe, who's on his best on gravel!)

Thx
Good selection, altough I would've chosen Christophe above Gilles
anyways
C'mon Belgium :bounce:

OMG no Christophe?? Maybe Gilles is better on the surface they play on, but overall Christophe is currently the better player of the two

Christophe refused to come with the team because they're leaving a week before the tie I think and he didn't want to leave so early

Good luck in Zimbabwe, guys!!! :bounce: :D :bounce:
They'll be playing on hardcourt indoors (according to the Daviscup website). Play starts next Friday (20 September) at 12 o'clock.
Kanaal 2 will show the matches live! :)

My (late) congrats to the whole team for qualifying for the world group again! :D
They really seemed to have a lot of fun in their Daviscup-meetings! I think they get along really well and that's great! :)
btw Did you see that Olivier replaced Steven Marten as coach in Gilles' match! He and Gilles had a lot of fun together on their chairs! :p
Let's now hope they don't draw Argentina or Spain in the 1st round (they could be playing out then). I really want them to play at home (or in Holland) so I can go and cheer for them!! :bounce: :bounce: (the 1st round draw is done today!)
