Ferrero Forever 01-13-2006, 06:26 AM they're being sarchastic. Either the top half or the bottom half is playing on monday. Sorry i'm not being much help esther 01-13-2006, 06:27 AM thats cool, i just really need to know asap! Ferrero Forever 01-13-2006, 06:28 AM yeah i agree, i'd love to know too so I can start pressuring my mum to let me go on a certain day Surf The Earth 01-13-2006, 06:31 AM OK honestly I don't know and I don't think you will be able to find out before Sunday when Monday's order of play is released. I needed to know last year and I could find no way of finding out. SomL. 01-13-2006, 10:35 AM I hope, Lleyton will play on Monday because I don't go to school.^_^ Jimnik 01-13-2006, 11:42 AM Doesn't the holder usually play on the first day? Puschkin 01-13-2006, 11:43 AM Doesn't the holder usually play on the first day? But the holder does not play  , so this does not bring us further. MariaV 01-13-2006, 11:56 AM But the holder does not play  , so this does not bring us further. Yeah. Sadly. NicoFan 01-13-2006, 12:10 PM Aussie TV have had Hewitt playing on the Saturday night match for at least the last three Years If that is the case in 06 then Bottom Half will play Monday While I appreciate the need for ratings, its truly annoying that Hewitt drives all the decisions at the Oz Open. Last year they changed the surface to be faster for him. Nothing against Lleyton personally, but he's one man and a Slam is supposed to be a world class event. gusman890 01-13-2006, 12:16 PM isnt the bottom half that plays first normally? i remember in '05 that wimbledon had the top half go first, but the us open had the bottom half..but then again..life is wierd :-P nobama 01-13-2006, 01:12 PM At Wimbledon don't the previous years winners play on the first day? PamV 01-13-2006, 01:26 PM Does anyone know when we got told which half plays on which day?? I checked the "schedule" on the website and don't see day one's line up yet. You could just keep checking here: http://www.australianopen.com/en_AU/scores/schedule/index.html TheBoiledEgg 01-13-2006, 02:15 PM At Wimbledon don't the previous years winners play on the first day? only Wimbledon does that :worship: last yrs winners open the proceedings US Open had the womens champion sent out to Timbuktu last sep   Federerthebest 01-13-2006, 02:19 PM While I appreciate the need for ratings, its truly annoying that Hewitt drives all the decisions at the Oz Open. Last year they changed the surface to be faster for him. Ummm, no, they didn't. :retard: In fact, Hewitt was complaining throughout the tournament that the surface was too slow and that the organisers should have made it faster to better suit him, as, according to him, the US OPEN did this for Roddick - an argument to which McNamee refused to yield. almouchie 01-13-2006, 03:22 PM its decided on the day of the draw which half will play first Dragula.mp3 01-13-2006, 03:33 PM I suppose we have to wait to the main draw is complete with the qualys. Winston's Human 01-13-2006, 04:12 PM At Wimbledon don't the previous years winners play on the first day? At Wimbledon, the defending men's champion starts center court play on Monday and the defending women's champion starts center court play on Tuesday. LaTenista 01-13-2006, 04:19 PM  Doesn't matter to me as Monday is actually Sunday night over here and I'm off Monday from work. Horatio Caine 01-13-2006, 04:39 PM Aussie TV have had Hewitt playing on the Saturday night match for at least the last three Years If that is the case in 06 then Bottom Half will play Monday Great...Henman doesn't even get to try out the hotel wardrobe  :tape: Horatio Caine 01-13-2006, 04:40 PM While I appreciate the need for ratings, its truly annoying that Hewitt drives all the decisions at the Oz Open. Last year they changed the surface to be faster for him. Nothing against Lleyton personally, but he's one man and a Slam is supposed to be a world class event. If he could change the surface faster (and he probably would'nt want to speed it up too much) then he would please a lot of players and fans on this board...mysefl included ;) heya 01-13-2006, 08:55 PM The #1 player had more practice on Wimbledon :hearts: Center Court. The precious people here have no problems with it. jtipson 01-13-2006, 09:33 PM The #1 player had more practice on Wimbledon :hearts: Center Court. The precious people here have no problems with it. I think it was the number two player who had practice on it in 2004; the number one player just had more matches on it. And pray, what has that to do with the subject at hand? Deboogle!. 01-13-2006, 09:42 PM And pray, what has that to do with the subject at hand?Absolutely nothing, but that's why we love heya:) anyway, do we actually know the answer? It doesn't really matter to me much, just curious:) esther 01-13-2006, 09:44 PM So we think the bottom half plays on Monday???? heya 01-13-2006, 10:01 PM We don't know the answer... and this forum is not full of double standards.... Via 01-13-2006, 10:08 PM last year roger federer plays first on monday... so why not this year? i bet the top half ;) rexman 01-13-2006, 11:05 PM only Wimbledon does that :worship: last yrs winners open the proceedings US Open had the womens champion sent out to Timbuktu last sep   The French Open has the champs play first on Phillipe Chatrier as well on opening day. ClaycourtaZzZz. 01-13-2006, 11:07 PM Top half, as always.:) First a women match on RLA and then Federer, like last year I guess. RickDaStick 01-13-2006, 11:09 PM Top half, as always.:) First a women match on RLA and then Federer, like last year I guess. I dont think so, im thinking the Hewitt playing the Saturday night match as mentioned will be the most likely scenerio meaning bottom half Monday so Lleyton can have Tue Thu Sat. keqtqiadv 01-13-2006, 11:17 PM The French Open has the champs play first on Phillipe Chatrier as well on opening day. Albert Costa played his first match in 2003 on court 1, against Roitman. If I'm not worng, Gaston played the last match of Chatrier last year, and the first was played by Lindsay Davenport. krystlel 01-14-2006, 05:06 AM The schedule has just come out. http://www.australianopen.com/en_AU/scores/schedule/index.html Bottom half is playing first. idolwatcher1 01-14-2006, 06:25 AM Bottom half plays first...
