Does anyone know when we got told which half plays on which day??

The middle half plays on Day 1

hopefully not Ferrero's half. I have more chance of going on Tuesday because the weather is cooler.

OK honestly I don't know and I don't think you will be able to find out before Sunday when Monday's order of play is released.
I needed to know last year and I could find no way of finding out.

at least the last three Years

If that is the case in 06 then Bottom Half will play Monday

While I appreciate the need for ratings, its truly annoying that Hewitt drives all the decisions at the Oz Open. Last year they changed the surface to be faster for him. Nothing against Lleyton personally, but he's one man and a Slam is supposed to be a world class event. :rolleyes:

i remember in '05 that wimbledon had the top half go first, but the us open had the bottom half..but then again..life is wierd :-P

Ummm, no, they didn't. :retard: In fact, Hewitt was complaining throughout the tournament that the surface was too slow and that the organisers should have made it faster to better suit him, as, according to him, the US OPEN did this for Roddick - an argument to which McNamee refused to yield.

At Wimbledon, the defending men's champion starts center court play on Monday and the defending women's champion starts center court play on Tuesday.

I think it was the number two player who had practice on it in 2004; the number one player just had more matches on it.

The French Open has the champs play first on Phillipe Chatrier as well on opening day.

I dont think so, im thinking the Hewitt playing the Saturday night match as mentioned will be the most likely scenerio meaning bottom half Monday so Lleyton can have Tue Thu Sat.

Albert Costa played his first match in 2003 on court 1, against Roitman. If I'm not worng, Gaston played the last match of Chatrier last year, and the first was played by Lindsay Davenport.
