Better than last year but ESPN dropping Davis Cup shows they still don't care much about tennis :(

I think this is an improvement. I'm also happy they're carrying the finals and not cbs or nbc........................less drama now..................hopefully........

I wouldn't bitch too much... We get a lot of the masters events that people in the US don't get to see.

I don't get why ESPN shows events such as the past spelling bees and Scrabble tournaments over live tennis.

Even more troubling, ESPN may preempt all those great fishing shows like "Bass-Tech" and "OH Boy! Oberto Redfish Cup."

ESPN's Grand Slam coverage has gotten slightly better. Hope they show everyone and not just Americans.

It's not Fed/Safin SF from LY, but they are airing a couple of oldies on ESPN Classic if you have it:

Early morning (1am EST) Monday the 16th back to back-

1980 U.S. Open, Final
Classic's Tennis
John Mcenroe vs. Bjorn Borg
Flushing Meadows New York, NY USA 1:00 am to
3:00 am

1981 U.S. Open, Final
Classic's Tennis
John Mcenroe vs. Bjorn Borg
Flushing Meadows New York, NY USA

I checked the listings for the duration of the Open and this is it. Why US Open matches, I don't know...

ESPN's Grand Slam coverage has gotten slightly better. Hope they show everyone and not just Americans. But what sucks is that their overall commitment to tennis is going downhill, now that they've dropped Davis and Fed cup :(

Yea, but that was a big deal in the US and it would have been unfair if ESPN chose to not cover it. A lot of communities wanted to see their local teams compete.

Considering the potential audience, it looks like very generous ESPN coverage to me.
Of course, here in Thailand, we are only getting 12 hours/day!!!!!!

It's nice that they are giving us a bigger window of live TV on the first Sunday (for the U.S.), 7pm - midnight. But they still don't show LIVE night session for us, nevermind it going into the early hours of the morning. :(;) What, people actually sleep at 3am? :p

The 5 hours of coverage is impressive for the first night, but it gets worse from then on. :(
