Sometimes I get the impression that he likes taking part in rallies more than playing professional tennis.

i understand them, just imagine have a career like agassi you will have a true life just at 38 when you're not young anymore and you have missed some intereseting things, the two are good it's right but just have to chose!

What is better...little Adams or little Corias?

I don't know a thing about Adam...but I doubt anything comes much worse than Coria :tape: :haha:

I don't see playing tennis as mutually inconsistent with having children, he can do both (with a shorter schedule). He is so young, it would be a sham to retire so early

Well yeah he can still carrying on playing but he obviously wants to spend time with them once he has little corias running around.

I bet he won't though if he wins a few grand slams and that, just look at what davenport said and what happened there!

About nalbandian, quite an interesting career choice but good on him whatever he decides to do.

No, he hasn't, but we've already talked about it over in David land, so it's not news to me.

Even Carla's womb can't handle those little beasts so Coria himself will have to carry them :tape:

true. but not within 3 or 4 years.
It's his decision, anyways. Car sports are a lot more exciting than tennis.
may be some tournaments should consider not to give the winners cars if they want Dave to compete in tennis 5 years later.

WHAAAT? Coria can't leave tennis in 2-3 years!

Oh, Nalbandian too will be an early loss for the game if he leaves in 3 years... well, good luck to him and to Guille as well. So is Lleyton planning to leave tennis "earlier" to raise little Mia too or what?

I hope they don't leave tennis that early. They're still young!
But if they've made up their mind, I'll respect their decision. :)

What?Nalby is so freakin talented(he`s very lazy but still talented) he can`t leave.Ye can drive cars when he's 35,until then move you`re fat ass on the court!
Guille won`t retire soon he loves it to much.

 I agree on the first part. It would be a serious pity if David retired so early, especially for Argentinean tennis.

But regarding Guille, it's true, he said it in an interview I saw with my very own eyes and heard with my very own ears.. He's not gonna stay much longer. He wants to have a family etc. Maybe he'll have a baby in like, two or three years and stay one or two years more afterwards. But yeah, it shocked me too at first but it's sorta sinked already. It's understandable. Sad, but understandable.

Why can`t he have a family and still play?Lots of players do it,Andre is a great example.

01-12-2006, 05:55 PM
Well I guess that depends on the person. He probably doesn't want to, and wants to settle down for once and all. What he did say is that everyone had to remember that he had been away from his home and family since he was 13 when he went to live somewhere else (I don't remember if he came to buenos aires or went to the US, I don't remember.) so he's been away from a place you could call 'home' for a long time. It's reasonable..

...little Corias :scared:  :fiery:

That is scary...well half scary - the Guille half.

It is sad news about both David and Guille.

To be honest, I think that the way tennis is set up now that it sucks the joy of the game out of it for these guys. Too long of a schedule, too much travelling, no time for families and friends. Most of them start making retirement plans a year after they start.

01-12-2006, 06:01 PM
I don't like Coria, but I think his decision here is highly commendable :) If you have kids you want to spend time with them and watch them grow up - not be away from home for 48 weeks of the year so that the kids may not even recognise you when you come home  You would miss out on so many precious moments and memories that you could never get back. As for taking the kids on tour - well it's pretty disruptive for children to do all the long distance flying, Hotels etc - and once they start their education it wouldn't be right to take them away from their school and their friends for so long. So if he has made enough money and wants to enjoy a family life - good luck to him.
