Official Alex Bogomolov Cheering Thread

Based on a suggestion from another MTF member (Thank you, Fee), I thought it was a good a time as any to start one of those cheering threads for Alex :). I think he deserves one. Then again, I'm biased :).

Hopefully this thread can remain a positive one.

Alex will kick ass in 2006 :D :yeah:

Yay!!!! Go Alex! :yippee:

{keep your paperwork in order this year, young man!}

He's in New Caledonia for the Challenger on Monday right? Should be a good way to start the year!

It's a different start to the year. The last two years he played Adelaide Quallies. My opinion is that this is probably a good move to get some competition under his belt. He has Sydney Quallies on his schedule but he obviously may not make that.

He will play Fernando Gonzalez in the first round (yikes).

Nice to see someone posting some support in here  . Kinda bummed that people were MIA after that 3 1/2 hours, 12-10 in the 3rd win yesterday. Shoot, today was his "easiest" of the three. I'm happy for him that he gets two days off.

Fee, I hope you bringing up his wife's name doesn't bring the stalkers over here. She has some very scary "supporters" and the person who manages Alex's site has had to delete some nasty guestbook entries recently. They are a scary sort.

Well I wish I had been there. This has happened with Gonzalez before btw- I used to follow him for about 2 years so I remember Mario Zabaleta and Gaudio both getting mad in Vina Del Mar during that tournie in 2004 and 2005 respectively. Gonzo gets pumped up no big deal but the partisan crowd got behind their player. Again expected. From what I can gather here, the chileno crowd was very vocal and so the nonpartisan crowd got behind Bogie. And the match was so tight that the stress must have gotten to both of them. No biggie but this is an excellent win for him. Good luck in the next round. I would think that this win over a seed would give him great confidence even though it took 5 sets. :) If I read anything official or if anyone else does would you post? Curious that's all.

 ESPN just showed highlights from the match and it looked great! Gonzo goes right at Alex with a fh and hits him. Then they showed Bogie letting one of Gonzo's balls hit him while saying "Come on" or something like that. The ump had to get between both of them during a change over telling Gonzo to calm down. At match point Alex puts his hand to his ear wanting the crowd to cheer louder.

It looked like a great match to watch. Both boys puffing out their chest.Someone out there must have recorded it(Needs to see this match)

I'm hoping that I can get a hold of this match. There was this website based in England that sells the matches but I haven't bought from her in so long that I don't know if she's still doing it.

Keep in mind that ESPN sliced and diced this 2 minute package their way so who knows what else Gonzales did to provoke Alex. Like you, I hope that this complete match exists somewhere.

woooooowww..... I was just catching up in the TennisWeek forum. I cannot believe how judgemental they are being. Are they all WTA fans or what :) Absolute idiots. Yes, he can act like a two year old at times when he's on the court. He can be loud and definitely give off the 'i'm a major asshole' vibe. But... to attack him as a person is absurd. "No respect for fans" they say? This is the guy that leans over the stands to give you a high five for watching his match. The guy who apologises sincerely after dripping sweat onto a photo i had of him and i... after I yelled at him (nicely, post-match) for doing so

He might be a boofhead on the court at times, but full points for off court behaviour with me... until he plays/destroys someone in my signature  then I might get a little bit annoyed :yeah:

 It's ok, I won't hold that against him because:
1. Jurgen is doing ok now, even if he does have a weird hairstyle (which I dreamt about last night! OMG!)
2. Alex Popp was on the next court, so I watched more of that match instead ^_^ Ahh... Alex (edit: Bogomolov. Well, Popp too...) is a good man :D lol!

(bogie & his wife travel together all the time, scheduled tournaments where atp and wta combined events are played together, and have the same coach)
Alex will be competing in World Team Tennis this summer for the New York Sportimes. The season will run from July 6th-July 26th. Along with Alex, the team consists of: wife Ashley Harkleroad, John Paul Fruttero, Vladka Uhlirova, John McEnroe (select matches), Martina Hingis (select matches), and Chuck Adams (coach). ( last time his wife played wtt is when she was coached by joe guliano, guliano was ban from coaching after being charge for sexual indiscreation, "possible sexual assault" on his wife (from the article coach from hell)

He played qualies. He plays his own schedule, he doesn't just travel with his wife and do nothing. Slams are one of the few times during the year they get to be together.
Don't be silly, just pointing out there're always together, check their schedule.

You know, if I had time to actually go back and check both of their schedules for this year, I am sure that I would find that they are not ALWAYS together. They may be together 'frequently' or 'as much as humanly possible', but not 'ALWAYS.' I made a vague, general statement to another poster, and you took it as gospel. Your choice.

Okay, that's just comical. If they are 'not important players who are just average', how is it that you know how often they are together? And the majority of your posts at this forum are in this thread?

I like Alex. I think he's funny and interesting. I've never met Ashley, but I would probably like her too. They are important to each other and they are both decent players who have earned the support their fans give them. Personally, I'm glad to see them playing team tennis together because I know it pays well, and hopefully it will help Alex have a good summer here in the US (and Ashley too).

Life for the Average Tennis Player
From the Sun-Sentinel: For players struggling to join tennis' elite, life on tour is more grit than glamour

Even the closest acquaintances can be clueless.

"People think it's super-glamorous," Jamea Jackson said.

Her life has to be, right? She is the 90th-ranked women's tennis player in the world. And it is, as are the lives of most other participants in the Nasdaq-100 Open, if that's how you characterize jet lag, late arrivals, long absences from family, language barriers, laying out thousands weekly for coaching, and losing.

Lots of losing.

With less reward than you'd guess.

Justin Gimelstob, who is entered in Nasdaq qualifying, has earned more than $2.2 million while popping in and out of the ATP Tour's top 100 for nine years. But that's before taxes and expenses. No wonder he's already working on a second career as a broadcaster and writer.

"You make enough to sustain yourself and a coach, but not enough to be frivolous," Jackson said. "Your friends don't really understand that."

"My friends all say, `You've got it made, I'm coming to live with you in a couple of years,'" said Bobby Reynolds, 23 and ranked No. 114 in ATP. "Yeah, right."...

What about the great majority of players, however, those who find themselves represented as agate type on the right, rather than left, side of "def." notations early in tournaments?

They find themselves hoping for the sort of wild-card entry Jackson received to Nasdaq, toiling through qualifiers or dropping to less lucrative satellite events.

They often find themselves skimping on coaching, even at the risk of continuing the losing cycle.

They invariably find themselves fighting to maintain confidence.

Raymond, 32, recalled "a rude awakening" after turning pro, having been No. 1 in juniors and college.

Paul Goldstein has reached his career-high ranking of No. 63 at age 29. He has a career record of 66-86.

"In college, my worst year, I was 26-4," Goldstein said. "Handling the losses on tour is a major transition."

He has seen it "chew up and spit out" many talented newcomers, who must come to grips with more than rackets. Young players such as Jackson and Amer Delic, who is 5-13 after winning an NCAA singles crown for undefeated Illinois, are still learning how to cope.

Veterans learn to take a rational approach...

Goldstein and Gimelstob pack bags and book flights based on losing relatively early.

"If you have to push [flights] back, that's a good thing," Goldstein said. "It might cost you a little in a change fee, but you're only doing it because you're winning prize money."

Yes, players pay for flights. Goldstein is a bargain-seeking Orbitz regular, even after earning more than $1.3 million on tour. Goldstein, whose wife accompanies him only a couple of times per year, was outearning his Stanford peers shortly after graduation. Not anymore.

"If you compare how I'm doing to the 63rd golfer or the 63rd-best baseball player, it's far behind," Goldstein said.

Even so, Gimelstob will remember his tour time fondly: "We get to work out for a living, and travel, and compete."

The traveling can be exhausting, however, the sightseeing time scarce.

Between Dec. 27 and Feb. 25, Delic spent two days home in Jacksonville, for his mother's birthday.

"People say, `You were in France, how was that?'" said Jackson, 20. "You see the hotel, you see the courts. You don't have much time to do anything else. I try to see one play in New York every year, around my birthday."

Furthermore, financial realities force decisions detrimental to competing at the highest level. Coaches are expensive, when including fees, travel and food. Delic, 23, and Reynolds have been part of the USTA's High Performance program, which provides a shared coach for selected players for a couple of years. Delic recently got his own, at a cost he estimates at $100,000 this year. Players put the total weekly cost at $500 to $5,000, with some coaches getting extra for good results.

"There's a different pressure when you're paying for a coach," Delic said.

A first-round loss could lead to losing money for the week. Thus, Jackson went without one for a while, even while supplementing income with sponsorships.

After losing his High Performance spot, Alex Bogomolov used a coach in 2005 only for the U.S. Open. The Miami native, 22, was still waiting Sunday to find out whether he qualified for qualifying at Nasdaq, where wife Ashley Harkleroad, 20, has a wild card. The couple lives in a three-bedroom house in Chattanooga, Tenn., but not on easy street. Not with No. 168 and No. 78 rankings, respectively.

Asked for his net earnings, Bogomolov said: "Tax season is around the corner, so I know that for the past three years, basically zero."

Harkleroad was injured for nine months, while Bogomolov was losing Challenger tournaments, so he sold his Toyota Celica GT for $10,000. Things are looking up. His wife is playing again; in dual tournaments, they can share a room. She got an adidas contract, and they may play World Team Tennis.

Already a five-year veteran, Harkleroad makes no secret of frustrations with her tour, in part "because girls with girls can be bratty with each other." Why did she return, after considering retirement?

"Had to pay some bills," she said. "No, just kidding. I kind of missed the competition."

Plus, she said, there's always hope "you might have one or two good weeks, and that gets you out of qualies for a year."...

"If I were in the top 50, I could book flights for the rest of the year," said Delic, who won two qualifiers at Indian Wells, lost to a fresh Marat Safin in the first round, then paid an $800 change fee, and drove from Palm Springs to Los Angeles to take a red eye to start over again in South Florida's BMW Championship.

'Love' means more to Sportimes' couple
By JANE MCMANUS
jmcmanus@lohud.com
THE JOURNAL NEWS

(Original publication: July 12, 2006)

MAMARONECK — The day-to-day marriage between Ashley Harkleroad and Alex Bogomolov Jr. has a familiar rhythm. They like to stay in together, hate when distances keep them apart and someday, when their careers reach the end of their arc, they hope to have children.

Yet in professional tennis, where both Harkleroad and Bogomolov make a living, marriage seems the kind of move the professionals save until just before they retire — not when they are starting out.

"It's not so abnormal (in Georgia)," Harkleroad said, "but in the tennis world, it's a little bit crazy. But we knew what we wanted to do and so nobody was going to stop us."

The two married a year and a half ago, and since then they have worked to balance nascent professional careers and a life together. They try not to go more than three weeks apart, and this July they will spend three weeks together as the two main players for the New York Sportimes.

"Me and Ashley both missed out on college life and that atmosphere," Bogomolov said. "So we thought it would be fun, give us three weeks together in a different kind of way."

Last night, Harkleroad played women's singles for the Sportimes and Bogomolov played doubles in a 20-19 win over the visiting New York Buzz before roughly 400 fans at Harbor Island Stadium. The home team is 3-2, and hosts the Boston Lobsters in its next match tomorrow.

Before the match began, the in-house announcer made this introduction of Bogomolov: "This lucky guy also happens to be married to his teammate Ashley Harkleroad!" The comment caused Harkleroad to laugh and say, "Why does he say that?" to a teammate.

They are stunningly young. At 23 (him) and 21 (her), they aren't even newlyweds. But during a brief conversation with them before the World TeamTennis match last night, it was clear that they had a deep commitment to each other.

Bogomolov, with fair, curly hair, is from Moscow and Harkleroad from Rossville, Ga., but their childhoods followed a similar pattern of travel and competitive tennis. Harkleroad remembers meeting Bogomolov at a juniors tournament for the first time when she was 12.

Both are well known to hard-core tennis fans. After moving to the United States, he won the USTA Boys Championship in 2001. Around the same time, she was the it girl at the U.S. Open, wearing a Nike outfit that brought tabloid notice.

Professionally, Harkleroad reached a high point getting to the third round of the French Open in 2003, which is the same year Bogomolov reached a career-high 97 in the rankings. Harkleroad is currently ranked No. 76 in singles.

They don't play doubles for the Sportimes, although Harkleroad said they may try for a mixed doubles wild card into the U.S. Open. And tennis itself can be a touchy subject for the two, particularly since they are players trying to crack the top ranks.

"If he loses to a guy, I'm mad at that guy for the rest of the tournament," Harkleroad said.

But she admitted that she didn't always take constructive criticism so well herself, particularly after a loss. And Bogomolov — who won each of his five singles games last night — has learned to be careful with his advice, although he had no problem standing and cheering his wife on at several points last night.

"We had to learn a lot faster than the average couple, because we're going to have losses times two every week," he said.

Last night after she lost the last game in her women's singles event to Julie Ditty, Harkleroad wore her disappointment on the way back to the Sportimes bench. Bogomolov gently massaged her legs, poured cool water on a towel for her head and tried to brighten her mood.

In a lot of ways, they resemble a couple that has been married for many more years. They bought a house in Georgia and split Christmas between his parents in Florida and hers nearby. They have some notoriety, but feel very few have a window into who they are as a couple.

"They only see us when we're on the tennis tour, at tournaments together," Harkleroad said. "They don't really know who we are."

Boston rocked by NY
Navratilova can't help out Lobsters
By Susan Bickelhaupt, Globe Staff | July 15, 2006

World TeamTennis has elite current and veteran players like John McEnroe, Martina Hingis, and Pete Sampras sprinkled throughout its 12 teams. And while the marquee names might not show up at every match, they are guaranteed to draw crowds when they do appear.

Last night, Martina Navratilova of the Boston Lobsters graced the multicolored courts of Harvard's Bright Arena to try to give her team a boost and the 1,684 spectators a glimpse of one of the all-time tennis greats.
But the Lobsters (1-5) lost to the New York Sportimes, 23-15.

Navratilova, who turns 50 in October, is expected to retire after the US Open in September. Earlier this month, she played doubles at Wimbledon, where she is tied with Billie Jean King for a record 20 titles.

``We try to have world-class athletes for the tennis af icionados, and then we're trying to get people who have never been to a professional tennis match, or maybe just passed it on television," said Lobsters general manager Peter Mandeau. Thus, Navratilova's appearance, along with loud music and a roaming lobster.

Even though the format diverges sharply from what Navratilova is used to -- from the scoring system to the music that blares during the breaks -- she insists she doesn't play differently.

``I always try to play hard," she said. ``This is not easy, coming from grass to play on an indoor court, but you adapt and just kind of go by the seat of your pants."

No man or woman has won more singles and doubles titles than Navratilova, who has 342. She finished ranked No. 1 in the world a record seven times, and has won 58 Grand Slam titles (18 singles, 31 doubles, 9 mixed). Only Margaret Court (62) has more.

So it was no surprise that the crowd applauded Navratilova when she stepped on the court.

But even though Navratilova stands alone in the sport, she has a fondness for team tennis, and has played in the WTT league since King helped develop it in the 1970s.

``I like playing on a team, that's why I like playing doubles," Navratilova said. ``I like talking to a partner; I hate being all alone on the court. I love getting the support from your teammates, and also being able to give it."

The Boston doubles team of Thomas Blake and Amir Hadad fell to New York's David Martin and Alex Bogomolov Jr., 5-3. Then Boston's Anda Perianu defeated Ashley Harkleroad, 5-3. But Bogomolov beat Hadad in singles, 5-3, and the Sportimes (5-2) had a 13-11 lead at halftime.

The crowd hoped Navratilova would help pull out a victory in the second half, but she and Kristen Schlukebir dropped their match, 5-0, then Navratilova and Hadad lost the final match, 5-4, in a tiebreaker.

``We lost it when we lost the women's match," Navratilova said. ``You can't dig a hole that deep and win in team tennis."

Love and Tennis is a Match for Ashley Harkleroad

Twenty-one year old American tennis player Ashley Harkleroad’s life on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour is a little bit different than most of the stars in the top 100. Harkleroad is one of the few players that are juggling marriage and a full-time career that requires her to travel around the world.

Harkleroad, who ended 2001 as the top-ranked American junior, has been married to Russian Alex Bogomolov Jr. since December of 2004. Tennis is more than just a hobby for the pair, because Bogomolov is also a professional tennis player. He is currently ranked at No. 155 on the INDESIT ATP rankings.

3. Your last comment is so INCREDIBLY inappropriate that I am a little bit stunned by it. I think you are the one who is jealous, you seem just a little bit obsessed with Ashley. Does she already have a restraining order against you? I wouldn't be surprised.

Hingis and Harkleroad are behind in their doubles match! It's terrible of me, but I'm going to have to laugh if Hingis loses to Pratty in doubles, even in WTT. :haha:

Oh no! Hingy/Harky now down 1-4 to Pratty/Schlukebir!

Harky/Hingy pull closer, now 3-4 ...

Tempers rage in Capitals' loss
Sacramento falls to the New York Sportimes in a match of first-place teams.
The Capitals' Elena Likhovtseva returns the ball to New York's Ashley Harkleroad on Monday night. Likhovtseva won the set 5-4. Sacramento Bee/Florence Low

Who said World TeamTennis was all fun and games? The way Monday's match at Allstate Stadium at Sunrise Mall unfolded, it resembled a serious professional event, not a laid-back exhibition.
After nearly three and a half hours of yelling, bickering and emotion rarely seen in WTT, the New York Sportimes defeated the Capitals 23-19.

When the Capitals won 5-4 (5-0) in men's doubles to cut their deficit to 22-19, the match went into overtime.

New York's David Martin then held serve for the final game.

With the victory, the Sportimes (10-3) clinched the Eastern Conference championship. Meanwhile, the Capitals (9-4) remained a half-game ahead of Springfield (8-4) for first place in the West.
Both teams have secured a berth in this week's playoffs at the Palisades Tennis Club in Newport Beach.

The fourth seed plays Newport Beach at 7 p.m. Thursday, with the winner facing the top seed Saturday. The second and third seeds meet Saturday, and the semifinals are at 3 and 7 p.m. that day. The finals are at 1 p.m. Sunday.

The top seed gets to serve first in three of the five sets, and it chooses the set order. Possibly because of those advantages, Monday's match had heightened tension.

On numerous occasions, New York coach Chuck Adams exhibited stalling tactics, presumably to annoy the Capitals. Between points, he advised his players and handed out towels and water, leading to a hostile reception from the announced crowd of 3,198.

The fans also were upset at Sportimes player Alex Bogomolov Jr., who yelled after winning points and stood up from his chair on nice shots.

"Sit down," the fans screamed.

Finally, during men's doubles, the chair umpire had enough of Adams' behavior.

"Time violation, warning, New York," she said.

The match featured several close line calls, and both sides questioned the chair umpire's competence. At approximately one-third of WTT matches, there is instant replay, and coaches can challenge calls. But because of the high cost of the Hawk-Eye technology and cameras, there was no instant replay Monday.

Although the playoff matches will have instant replay, that fact didn't offer much solace for the Capitals.

On the first serve of the men's singles tiebreaker, Sam Warburg hit an apparent ace, but the chair umpire ruled it out.

"Are you kidding?" teammate Mark Knowles asked, getting out of his chair and staring at the chair umpire.

Said Warburg: "I couldn't have hit it better than that."

Warburg won the point and went ahead 3-0 before Bogomolov Jr. reeled off the next four points. But Warburg won the final two, cutting the Capitals' deficit to 13-10 and avenging his 5-0 loss to Bogomolov Jr. on July 8 in New York. The Capitals won that match 19-18, during which Warburg was the lone Sacramento regular to play because the other three were at Wimbledon. The Sportimes had the same roster as they did Monday.

Like last time, the Sportimes went ahead 5-0 Monday after Ashley Harkleroad and David Martin's easy victory over Knowles and Elena Likhovtseva.

Hey, if you are going ot the SFs tomorrow why don't you tell Alex to his face what you say about his wife in posts #149, #151, & #153 (it's very obvious that you are using three different usernames because you write with the same style in each). I'm sure that he would love to hear your opinions. So much so that he would beat the living shit out of you. He is very protective of his friends and family and I imagine that he's even more so of his wife.

BTW, *************. Makes me even happier to know that I can't get a ride out there because I would be worrying more about the antisocial psychopath in the crowd rather than cheering on the NYS. I'll do it here from home, thanks.

Yeah, I would prefer that Francillon/DonPo/Sonja not be given that kind of info. To be honest, his comments and behavior do kind of scare me personally, but I agree with you, Alex is a strong, scrappy young man and he's afraid of no one. Newport Beach advances to WTT tennis finals with win over Sacramento
Despite getting blown out in the first set, 5-0, the Newport Beach Breakers continued their surprising run in the WTT Playoffs, coming from behind to oust the top-seeded Sacramento Capitals 19-18 in World TeamTennis action Saturday in Newport Beach.

The Breakers advanced to Sunday’s 1 p.m. WTT Championship Final where they will face the Philadelphia Freedoms.

Doubles standouts Mark Knowles and Elena Likhovtseva got the Caps off to a quick start with a 5-0 drubbing of Tina Krizan and Rick Leach. Newport Beach rallied in women’s singles when Anastassia Rodionova posted a 5-2 win over Likhovtseva.

Sacramento bounced back in men’s singles when Sam Warburg held off the Breakers’ Ramon Delgado in a tiebreaker, 5-4 (3). Not willing to go away quietly, the Breakers rallied in women’s doubles with Rodionova and Krizan going to another tiebreaker to oust Likhovtseva and Anastassia Pavlyuchenkova 5-4 (1).

The Breakers completed the comeback when Delgado and Leach surprised Knowles and Warburg in men’s doubles, 5-2. “We all played really well today,” Delgado said following the match. “I am so happy we played so well in doubles to close out the match. It was really unbelievable that we came back to win the match without having to go to overtime. All day long the whole team stayed together on every point in every game.”

Newport Beach went 6-8 in the regular season and advanced to Saturday’s semifinal round with a 23-18 win over the Springfield Lasers Thursday in the WTT wild card quarterfinal.

#4 Newport Beach Breakers def. #1 Sacramento Capitals 19-18

People should think hard about whether they are ready to post on a forum such as MTF. Quite often I think they should stay in WTAworld, but then again there are no prerequisites for joining or posting here. If there were, common sense would not necessarily be one of them. Thankyou for the insightful post (almost as good as the pupil dilation!) My time here is done.

223 on the INDESIT ATP rankings. Where are they now?, seem like pebbles and bogie have disappeared from the tennis scene  .

kumero,That last i saw ashley doubles match on CCTV5(A sports channel in China).
Tiantian/Sun played terrible from the first set,but they won some key points,so they took the first set.
I have to say Ashely and her partner played awesome tennis! Ashely has good volley and her partner has good serve. ;)
So I think the two factors made them took advantage in the match.
However,Li/Sun had too many UEs on baseline.

I hope u'll be satisfy with my answer. :)

Now divorced, Bogomolov focusing on his game

It was almost two years to the day since his marriage to Ashley Harkleroad (he was 21, she 19) that I happened on Alex Bogomolov, training at Crandon Park on Key Biscayne last week.

I would have thought the couple would be back home in small-town Chickamauga, Ga., enjoying the offseason.

"How's Ash?" I asked. His face went sour.

"We're done," he said. "I'm back in Miami for good."

They're divorced, ending a marriage that so many close to them had advised against. So young. So much in love. And they were convinced their tennis careers wouldn't be inhibited.

Bogomolov had reached No. 100 in October 2004, just three shy of his career best. He's now 221. She was No. 124 when they married. She's No. 86 now, so she's made some headway, but not nearly as much as was expected.

Both have talent. Both can reach top 50. Harkleroad in 2003 had a great run at Charleston, S.C., beating three top-20 players. Bogomolov is not big at 5 feet 10 and 155 pounds. But he's very quick, very gritty and has a win over James Blake. Now, hopefully, he can focus with more purpose on his game.

Sonja1021

Anybody remember how some lady used to write night and day about how Alex Bogomolov was going to be the greatest tennis player of his generation, a few years ago? She used to interject Bogomolov's name into every thread and tout his tennis skills. Maybe it was Hackleroad.

Is he? I just looked at his European clay results form last year and those were pretty bad. He is in the final in Sarasota this week, but that is whole other clay.
He is going to play a few clay challengers in the coming weeks, I'm very curious how he will fare there.

Filo V.
05-01-2011, 07:33 PM
He's pretty good on clay, he's got training on it, and he likes playing on it. His game doesn't translate to clay that great but his movement on the surface is positive. He can slide into his shots and play his defense.

He lost to Blake 2-6 2-6 in the final today but had a great week, and is up to 91st in the world. The way he's been playing the past 6 months, and the little he has to defend these next months, point to Alex being able to make potentially top 70. I don't expect much from him next week but I do think he can do well at RG.

Alex plays Adam Kellner in R1 of Prague challenger next week. GL to him!

Well the next time that you can make a request about a player's Forum you can try then to get him one. I don't know when they will open the request area again since two new Forums were just added? But the wait will give his thread some time to be in the Russian Forum and you can see if things are going well in this area. And if Alex does well playing for Russia and a lot of fans start to post here that would be the best time to ask for a Forum for him! You have to have a lot of poster support to get a Forum especially if many people posted wanting a Forum for many different players. We got lucky with our Player Forum request because only two players had requests put in so they just gave them both Forums :) Good Luck :D
