I voted as well. But I get the feeling that Roger won't win anyways. I think they'll give it to Lance, for sentimental reasons, regardless of the votes. I voted 1 for Roger, then picked the two names I was least familiar with, instead of voting for known folks(people will already be giving them enough votes).I also voted for Kim and Serena for the female vote, but put Annika first.

Why American polls always include Roger in their choice ? A non-American has about no chance to win anything there

" The Athlete of the Year ballot is the culmination of the Academy’s yearlong Athlete of the Month program, which recognizes the accomplishments of men and women in any sport around the GLOBE on a monthly basis. USSA holds online voting for the Athlete of the Month in which a committee comprised of media representatives and sports leaders from AROUND THE WORLD vote on the top male and female athletes. "

What a joke :haha: :haha: :haha:

:secret: I can assure that out of the States we aren't cavemen and we have sports , believe me , yesterday i saw an old man playing " petanque " ( Sorry i tried to find an evidence of another sport but unluckily the " petanque " is the only non-extincted sport alive out of America    ). ( For example , i still remember a sport called "soccer/football " , but unluckily 30 years ago a worlwide locusts plague ate the grass on all the stadiums , and this sport disappeared   )

Evidence about petanque is still alive :) :

oooh! I played petanque at a French restaurant once! It was fun, except that my friend Nichole told me that only old people play it in France.

Has permission been obtained from United States government to play this sport. All activities outside the United States do require US authorization.

Yes, I've learnt that the same sterotypes that are applied to Americans, I can apply them to citizens of other countries.

Yes, I've learnt that the same sterotypes that are applied to Americans, I can apply them to citizens of other countries.

I wasn't applying no sterotype to a concrete nationality , simply i was being ironic about some awards called as " worldwide /world" when they are mainly "national " awards . And i think that it is a insult towards the intelligence of the citizens of other countries.

I was criticizing those awards and the mass media which give those awards, i wasn't criticizing your country , nor their citizens

I think people have caught on to just how good he is. Three years ago, I would have said he's underrated. But now, I think he gets his fair share.

I voted for Tiger Woods. Have always admired his skill, how he handles himself and how much he has achieved as a black player in an almost entirely white sport. I also feel he is more worthy of the award than Lance Armstrong whose victories in the Tour de France rely heavily on the quality of the cycling team which surround him and who has actually achieved little in cycling outside the Tour de France unlike the dominant cyclist of the past Eddy Merckx. In reality the award will be won by a United States sportsman and so have restricted my choices to United States sports people.
