Mexico doesn't deserve a seeded spot in the draw , and it's very unfair in terms of footballistic merits . ( This seeded spot is just a matter of points won by that nation in FIFA rankings )

I don't like the FIFA system to qualify for World Cups , because the CONCACAF has 3 spots ( these 3 nations will be Mexico , USA , and Costa Rica ) . CONCACAF's level is a joke and thus for Mexico is always very easy to qualify for a Word Cup.

Wacthing that the fourth qualifyed nation in CONCACAF's group was " Trinidad abd Tobago " . it isn't necessary to tell anything else

Sorry , i forgot that Trinidad and Tobago also qualifyed thanks for the play-off match defeating Bahrein

Yeah, it makes no sense at all that, in a play-off, we had Uruguay facing Australia, and in the other, Trinidad & Tobago facing Bahrein, also considering logistical reasons. I'm not sure but I guess they'll change this in the next WC qualifying.

As I live in Hamburg, I am so excited to get to know which teams will play here, and it would be a wonderful dream if Sweden would play here :) :bounce:

I know. Czech Republic never played a WC before actually, only when they were part of Czechoslovakia (the last time was in 1990). And somehow they have managed to remain top 10 in the FIFA ranking for a long time now. As for Netherlands, they were absent from last WC but finished 4th in 1998 and reached QF in 1994. Mexico, on the other hand, has reached QF for the last time in 1986 - when they were hosts.

Actually Portugal isn't seeded because they didn't earn the points of the Qualifying for Euro 2004. Home nation, no qualifying.

As for Mexico, yes I mean their display at Confs Cup. It was :worship:.

Damn how come I have to defend Mexico that much when I'm not even Mexican. :p

Mexico were massively robbed in 94, 98 and 2002's Last 16. Can't remember against who on 94, against Germany on 98 and against USA on 2002. But this year they'll do their best ever if they play like Confs Cup.

But come on really. The referee was the only reason USA beat them 3 years ago. Mexico played insanely better but kept getting punched and kicked with the ref pretending not to see anything.

Yes, I remember that Mexico was robbed against USA in the last WC. Against Germany in 1998, I can't recall anything unusual, apart from Germany making a great comeback in the 2nd half. In 1994 they were beaten by Bulgaria on a penalty shoot-out.

The USA are very unlikely to go through. The Czechs are a far better team and will probably put quite a few past the US team. Italy will also beat you. I think you are a little bit optimistic about your chances.

Being english Iam very pleased with our draw, though the probability of meeting Argentina so early in the knock out stages is not great. Even though we won in Zurich they will have a far better team, whilst we will only really have Ashley Cole.

Though World Cups have surprises, the best team nearly always reaches the final and the winner is more times than not Brazil, Italy or Germany. So I will boldly predict that one of those three will be in a final again. I hope we win it, but the favourites have to be Brazil. A good outside bet would be the Czech republic though.

I will be in Europe during the World Cup and want to go see a game. Does anyone know how much a cheap ticket would cost me? I just want to go to a game.. it doesn't have to be two good teams or anything. I'll go to one of the first round games.

anything can happen in a one game sudden death, as is the knockout stage. However, unlike Japan/Korea 4 years ago, this 2006 World Cup will showcase A CLEAR favorite. Incredible display of talent led by FIFA World Player of The Year Ronaldinho, as Brasil is a huge fav here.

Brasil to win.

Argentina, I agree. Their division is the grooup of Death, and they may not get out.

England? you got to be kidding. That's a dream draw. Drew the worst team in Trinidad & Tobago; they don't belong. FIFA, get it right, CONCACEF deserve only two spots. Also, drew the weakest S American team. Sweden, of course, is no pushover, but they could have done worse from pot C (ie., Holland, Portugal or Czech). If they win their division, which they should they draw grp A's 2nd place team--HARDLY a big threat there.

Win now or never England.........with a LOADED Brasil team, a potential semi-finals looms...... i'm banking the 40 yrs of hurt continue........ ;)

USA will get through, draw italy beat the czechs and ghana
I think Round of 16 will have USA vs Brazil. Be prepared.

The USA are very unlikely to go through. The Czechs are a far better team and will probably put quite a few past the US team. Italy will also beat you. I think you are a little bit optimistic about your chances.

You are right. But 2002 could be different if referee had seen the German player using his hand to evade the goal in quarterfinals. USA wasn't lucky that time. And I feel this group will have a surprising team reaching the 2nd spot. I feel that Ghana or USA will get Brazil.

Yes, Paraguay is a good team. But I would include Portugal, Mexico, Spain and Ukraine in luckies list.

Go Brazil and Japan!

2002 could also have been different for Mexico if they weren't so robbed against USA in the Round of 16.

Crap, Argentina got the worst group not England they have it piss easy, Australia on the other hand  :banghead: :help: They maybe have a chance against Croatia, hopefully at least draw against Japan and try not to get thrashed against the all mighty Brazil

Croatia's draw isn't too bad. We should be able to take care of Japan and Australia fairly easily
Sorry but I think Australia can beat Croatia and japan can beat Croatia also. no offence just my thoughts.

Best draw is France and Spain

Germany have chance to face England in 2nd Round

Brazil have chance to face Italy or Czech in 2nd Round

Argentina, Netherlands, too bad draw

England, good luck for them, if they placed 2nd in group B, then .....
