He did it, and deserved it too. Dominated the rallies most of the time and showed amazing mental toughness.

Mario is going to face Kucera now. He's the favourite, but we can't forget that he lost a decisive match to Wayne Arthurs earlier this year. :p

so what, now Mario is taking it. i really don't believe Kucera can bring up himself into fight. But if he did, then I wouldn't find the words of worship for the veteran.

I'd be surprised if Ancic wins...........he has a history of choking in these moments.

I wanna see Goron though, Mario is already lost already and or let Dr. Ivo finsih it off who had better indoor results then Mario.

Goron - S&V, fast indoor courts suit him, but hasn't played a real high level match, excluding the senor tour if that counts.

Ivo- Handed Roddick a lose in Madrid 2 months ago, so can have very strong serves indoors.

ether one is better then mario IMO

Dominik :woohoo:
Head to heads never meant much to him in DC :D

Mertinak will play the final rubber I think. Go Michal!

He is not the favourite, and it would be much more interesting if Beck was fit, but what can you do.

Karlovic has better chances in my opinion also, but it would be unfair to put him on the final and decisive rubber, considering that he hasn't played a single live rubber this year. Too much pressure on him, and I don't think he would be prepared for it. Mario has to finish what he started.

WHAT about putting the guy who played along Hrbaty yesterday in doubles  he has a good volley and a decent serve.

His name is Mertinak and the croatian commentators said that he is going to play against Mario, besides Kucera staid in the audience even after Hrbaty won, so I guess he really won´t play....

mcnroe only did 9

"Ljubicic moved within one victory of tying John McEnroe's 1982 record of 12 Davis Cup wins in a single year -- eight singles and four doubles."

Anyways, 11 straight wins are still too impressive and I don't think Ljubo choked.
Dominik played really well and really smart.

:bigclap: Hrbaty
 Ljubo

May the best team win. :)

Right Emina, Mertinak will play and Mertinak received pretty well yesterday so I am - :scared:  actually DEAD.

I agree with what our commentator was saying during all the match, Ljubicic is simply too cold. You have to use the emotion to raise your level in the critical moments, not suppress it. Specially in Davis Cup. Like Domink "I am a born to be Davis Cup player" Hrbaty do

*Ljubica*

Wow - well done Dominik :clap2: - that was an amazing example of fight and pure heart. All of Hrbaty's fans should be rightfully proud of him tonight :)

Yes Rosie. Hrbaty deserves full credit for this win :bigclap: . It is not like Ljubicic gave him the match.

Why are they playing Mertinak? Slovakia are SCREWED. :banghead:

An injured Beck would be a better option.

But, well done Dominik :worship: Great Show :yeah:

i think Solvakia has a shot, i mean, all the pressure is on mario because before the ties even started, Croatia was the heavy favorite and Solvakia had nothing "mentally" to lose, they were fighting for the cup, not pride as well.

besides, if mario chokes, Mertinak has a really shot haha

That's a good job for Hrbaty, he proved again he is one of the best Davis Cup home players who can defeat a lot of people.

Ancic 2-0 sets up, so I guess it's still not enough for Slovakia. But they tried hard and made it more difficult than some Croatian fans were thinking before ;)

Hrbaty played really well, he deserves the happiness he showed and his fans should be proud of his spirits under pressure. :)

Ljubicic, hard luck..
well, Mertinak was really doing well in the first set, however things changed after the tie break, Ancic is taking the lead rightnow..

hrbaty played great & kept his heart & foucs in the match.
guess the long season & his 109th match took its toll on Ivan Ljubo, he was weary towards the end.
nobody could fault him, he tried his best

MArio, its his turn to step up now
