BOULDERS BEACH, SIMON’S TOWN
Best for: penguin watching, sheltered swimming and learning to snorkel.
Simon’s Town is a delightful quaint old navy seaport at the terminus of the railway and the last town before Cape Point Nature Reserve. Boulders beach is a few kilometres on from the station and taxi buses are frequent. It now comes under the auspices of the National Parks board so a small fee is charged to enter this delightful cove. Giant granite boulders form several little secluded beaches and as you walk along the path towards Foxy Beach you may be forgiven for thinking that a donkey is being massacred in the bushes. It is in fact a Jackass Penguin living up to its name. About 800 of these little dinner-suited birds watch you while you watch them. Previously you could walk amongst them but now a new raised wooden walkway gives you a good view and protects them from clumsy feet and enthusiastic photographers. This is the most accessible breeding colony of jackass penguins in the world and a sight not to be missed. When the south-easter is taking a break, scuba divers should explore Castle Rock a few kilometres on from Boulders, to see spectacular drop offs, lots of corals and surprisingly colourful fish.

where's Daniel? he can tell us about beaches in S Africa...

I like your guess, Mrs. B. -- Seychelles, what a paradise on earth! It w suit Rogi cos there are beaches, peace and quiet, probably a spa where he can get some treatments and they speak French there as well! Looks gorgeous -- esp fr where I'm sitting -- altho it's sunny and beautiful out today, it's freezing and there is snow glistening all around me...

I guess some tranquil beach in Asia somewhere... he likes Thailand but he's been there already, Maldives also... how about Cebu, Mrs. B.?

YES!!!!!that's the place I was trying to remember when I said Fiji :worship:
I had a freind who went on her honeymoon...the cabins have see through floors, so you can watch the fish swim by!!!! I meant Bora Bora, but this spot looks good too. I'd love to watch Roger swimming in that clear water, or swimming under my hut, for that matter :)

love all your beach pics (yes, it's freezing here big time!) and Cebu is not so far from Shanghai, but for peace & quite and far from the madding crowd, this place would suit Roger & Mirka better... ;)

GETTING THERE

Lying between the latitudes five to twenty-one degrees north, the Philippines archipelago comprises more than 7,000 islands sprinkled across the westernmost rim of the Pacific Ocean. The islands are actually the tips of half-submerged mountain ranges, part of a great cordillera extending from Indonesia to Japan. Amanpulo is located on the private island of Pamalican, in the Cuyo group, about 300km southwest of Manila. Seven square kilometres of reef rim the island. Beyond are sandbanks and a channel, where whales, dolphins and sea cows have been glimpsed. At its widest point, the 5.5km island is only 500 metres across.

Amanpulo is accessed by scheduled charter flight from Manila, which has flights to several major international destinations. Guests are met at Manila's international airport and taken by complimentary transfer to the Amanpulo lounge, adjacent to the departure point. Transfers and flight vouchers are all arranged by Amanpulo staff. Guests fly directly to Pamalican Island in a 19-seat, twin-engine turboprop, landing at the resort’s private airstrip.

The crystal-clear aquamarine water and the soft white sands vs. the deep blue sky -- they are dreamlike places... I guess the closest I've been to paradise has been the Med -- S of France and E coast of Spain [Valencia and Barcelona] and also Bermuda, which IS lovely, warm, civilized and soothing!

More please!!

Yes, we have some beautiful lakes, especially in the north part of country. I live in the south, closer to mountains.

It's not that cold yet in Poland (as it could be), but to tell you the truth we're a bit spoilt by warm autumn and now all of the sudden it's colder and snowing :p.

Dear Fans

I would like to drop you a line from my holidays. Just like every year, it is great to have some time off all by myself with Mirka. We always look forward to this kind of vacation as we both need it after such busy periods. What we love is the fact that there are no commitments, no schedules and we can do what we feel like - which is great for a change!

I am very happy about my result at the Masters Cup. I consider it a great success to actually have been part of the tournament this year after my injury. So making it to the final is a great achievement.

I will be starting my preparation for the 2006 season in mid december. I am really looking forward a lot to hopefully another fantastic season! I'll give you more details after my vacation.

Kind regards
Roger

My friend saw him yesterday evening in Zurich in the ‚Niederdorf’, that’s a place with a lot of shops, restaurants and clubs.
She said there was a reporter from a swiss magazine (Glückspost) with him, so I guess it was probably for an interview!

And what is the most annoying about this whole story? At the same time I went shopping in Zurich as well, but decided to go to another place.

Niederdorf is located between my school and Zurich main station, so I often walk through in there to reach the train station... (I like this kebap restaurant in there. :) )I would like to see him and Mirka on the public street, but I won't do more than seeing them... I have never seen them in their private time in Zurich, they (or Roger) seem to come here sometimes, though...
