The list is based mostly on 11-20 the most likely group to enter the top ten. I think Marat Safin and Richard Gasquet have the best chance based on their ability. Please give details of other potentials.
Which of these players will be IN the top 10 at the end of 2006DrJules 11-23-2005, 09:18 AM The list is based mostly on 11-20 the most likely group to enter the top ten. Fergie 11-23-2005, 11:18 AM Gonzalez :yeah: Horatio Caine 11-23-2005, 11:40 AM I'm thinking Tim will have a better season next year...but whether he gets back to those heights again is another matter! :tape: Gonzo, Safin, Gasquet and Ginepri have excellent chances... Exodus 11-23-2005, 11:56 AM Safin can easily climb back to top 10 if he is fully recovered from his knee injury. He haven't played since August. jenanun 11-23-2005, 12:00 PM gasquet is most likely to get into top10, and safin, but all depends on his health i think ginepri and berdych have a great chance as well keep_er_lit! 11-23-2005, 12:11 PM Safin if he stays fit. I would be surprised if Gasquet didn't make it. Possibly Berdych or Gonzalez as well. Julio1974 11-23-2005, 12:22 PM Gasquet and Safin. shotgun 11-23-2005, 12:32 PM Safin has certainly the ability to comeback, but I'm not sure if his knee injury will let him do it. I think Gonzalez will probably reach the top 10 sometime next year, but I don't know if he'll be able to defend all of his points in the 2nd semester in order to finish the year as a top 10. Unless some tragedy (i.e. injury) takes place, Gasquet will certainly end next year as a top 10. espanol04 11-23-2005, 01:09 PM Gonzalez, Safin, Johansson and Berdych mandoura 11-23-2005, 01:33 PM Safin if fit, definitely. I like Gasquet's chances. I hope Berdych and Blake. Edit* What a wonderful surprise if Guga can make it too. There is nothing wrong about dreaming, is there? Sometimes, dreams come true. :D prima donna 11-23-2005, 01:53 PM Safin if fit, definitely. I like Gasquet's chances. I hope Berdych and Blake. Edit* What a wonderful surprise if Guga can make it too. There is nothing wrong about dreaming, is there? Sometimes, dreams come true. :D Wow, you're dreaming big. :yeah: Merton 11-23-2005, 03:09 PM Safin if he recovers, Gasquet and Berdych have the game to do it. Fumus 11-23-2005, 03:34 PM I'll you what! That Ginepri is going to overtake Andy as the top ranked American. rexman 11-23-2005, 04:14 PM Juanqui, Safin and Gasquet. enqvistfan 11-23-2005, 05:00 PM Gonzalez and Safin almouchie 11-23-2005, 05:07 PM i would to see how gasquet will cope with pressure of his next full season on the tour. he needs to build his strengthn as well as a winning mentality Lee 11-23-2005, 05:08 PM Edit* What a wonderful surprise if Guga can make it too. There is nothing wrong about dreaming, is there? Sometimes, dreams come true. :D I love your dream, mando but being a Guga fan, I learned to not setting a high expectation and I really don't think he will be in top 10 even he managed to play a whole season. On top, he will probably play most on clay. LaTenista 11-23-2005, 05:08 PM Ferrer has virtually no points to defend until Indian Wells...all first round losses until Viña del Mar (SF), a few more 1st/2nd round losses after that. He could foreseeably break into the Top 10 before Miami because he's improved so much in the last year. Lee 11-23-2005, 05:09 PM Somehow, I don't have confidence in any of the players in the poll to make it top 10 next year  Lee 11-23-2005, 05:10 PM Ferrer has virtually no points to defend until Indian Wells...all first round losses until Viña del Mar (SF), a few more 1st/2nd round losses after that. He could foreseeably break into the Top 10 before Miami because he's improved so much in the last year. But the poll is for end of 2006. I really don't think Ferrer will defend his points in 2005. LaTenista 11-23-2005, 05:24 PM But the poll is for end of 2006. I really don't think Ferrer will defend his points in 2005. He had a lot of 1st round losses this year, like 12 or something. Not to mention he was injured during the grass season. LaTenista 11-23-2005, 05:26 PM Also, Ferrer has improved his ranking every year he's been on tour. So 15 to 10 doesn't seem so impossible to me considering he went from like 49 at the beginning of this year to end at 15. GonzoFan 11-23-2005, 05:51 PM Gonzalez, Gasquet, Safin and maybe Berdych Scotso 11-23-2005, 06:02 PM Safin, Gasquet, Ferrero, Berdych landoud 11-23-2005, 06:33 PM R. Gasquet R. Ginepri T. Berdych M. Saumon 11-23-2005, 08:49 PM Sapdea :D :p mandoura 11-23-2005, 11:38 PM Wow, you're dreaming big. :yeah: Si  . mandoura 11-23-2005, 11:40 PM I love your dream, mando but being a Guga fan, I learned to not setting a high expectation and I really don't think he will be in top 10 even he managed to play a whole season. On top, he will probably play most on clay. I just miss the King of Clay Lee, really miss him. :) Love your avy. ;) Ferrero Forever 11-24-2005, 01:45 AM Ferrero will be back:D ~EMiLiTA~ 11-24-2005, 07:41 AM hopefully safin probably gonzo...and gasquet also has a big chance if he stays fit i'd love to see ferrer there too...not sure he's quite at that level yet though DrJules 11-05-2006, 08:38 PM Safin and Gasquet both failed to reach the top 10, but have for the 2nd half of 2006 rapidly accended the rankings: Safin from 104 in August to around 25 at year end. Gasquet from 66 in June to around 20 at year end. Blake and Gonzalez did make the top 10. tangerine_dream 11-05-2006, 09:17 PM Gonzalez 16.9% Blake 12.10% Safin 64.52% Gasquet 54.84% As is usual with polls, MTF couldn't be more wrong again. coral 11-05-2006, 09:31 PM Hard to call - so many talented players could make it. In the mix I'd put Berdych, Safin (who's been there before of course), Gasquet, Gonzalez not forgetting the Young Guns, Murray and Djokovic. vincayou 11-05-2006, 10:13 PM Gasquet took time to recover from his injury (and got another one which destroyed his clay season), but has played top 10 the last 5 months (in fact, he's fifth on points scored the last 5 months behind Fed, Roddick, Gonzo and Davydenko) He would easily have been top10 without his injuries. | |
