Did all the players listed indicate that they were interested in playing or did the organisers just enter the top 2 players from each country into the Race? :p

Will USA play? I don't remember Andy Roddick ever entering this competition.

Surely Federer, and hence Switzerland, won't play.

Did you know that the highest ranked player is also who shares out the money among the rest of players of the team ??

Before the tournament starts this highest player negotiates with the rest of players the percentage of profit , and sometimes they don't reach an agreement . In fact last year Robredo before calling Ferrer , Ventura and Lopez Moron , negotiated with another players ( i know at least two names ) and they didn't reach an economic agreement

Last year I heard (sorry I don´t remember.... I think it was a Chilean press article) that Massú had "problems" with one of the Chilean players (not Gonzalez) because of the percentage and that player finallly decided to play the qualy to RG instead of Duesseldorf. I though that was weird in that moment.... Thanks for the info Galaxystorm. That explains it. Anyway, I don´t remember the name of that player....

Andy actually participated along with Pete Sampras I think in uhmmm...2001 or 2002 it was I think.

Been living here in Dusseldorf for more than three years now and never actually went there...might go this year;)

will be sad to see Chile out :(

It is too bad but on the bright side they can concentrate on getting ready for RG. They did win it two years in a row so maybe its a good time for a new challenge.

Any player, not necessary the top 2, from the countries in the top 7 teams can play.

Since I doubt there will be 4 countries pulled out, Germany will have the wild card. They are the defending champion there.

"Back the roots" - Roddick Returns to Duesseldorf

The first entry for next years' Tennis World Team Championship is already a blockbuster: After four years Andy Roddick will return to Duesseldorf . The 23-year-old World Number three and currently Number one in his country, wants to lead the 'stars-and-stripes' team back into the final -13 years after their last triumph at Rolander Weg.

According to the ATP rankings possible alternatives for the second singles would be either US-Open runner-up Andre Agassi, Robby Ginepri and James Blake, who enjoys great popularity among the tennis fans. First choice with regard to the doubles are again the twins Bob and Mike Bryan. As a 18-year-old Andy Roddick, the player with the hardest serve on the ATP Tour (249,4 km/h), celebrated his first appearance in Duesseldorf in 2001 when he teamed up with the great Pete Sampras, just as one year later in 2002. In the past two years Roddick played only one match in Germany - at the Masters in Hamburg Rothenbaum, when he lost his first match to Chile’s Olympic champion Nicolas Massu....
