Ivan about Mario

I honestly didn´t want to start a new thread becuase of this short article extract, but it didn´t really fit into the existing ones... Ivan gave an interview in Bercy and here´s the question concerning Mario:

TM: Ancic is said to be pretty nervous and that it's the main reason why he hasn't got a wide palmares yet, though he's, it's true, only 21...

IL: It's someone who'll never admit he's nervous whereas it's more than obvious when you watch him play under certain circumstances. From the moment he doesn't admit that weakness, he can't try to erase it. That's his current problem. But he's very young. He's 21 and has already been semi-finalist in Wimbledon. Everyone was expecting him to progress like Roddick did. Personally, I think we'll have to be more patient, a bit like for me...I've tried to advice him at the beginning. But I've felt he wanted to learn on his own, especially in making his own mistakes. And I understand him. He follows his track and that's good.

here´s the link if somebody wants to read the whole interview:

personally i think for someone who loses finals from 2 sets up and has a bad record in finals he's got a nerve to insult mario

It's not really an insult, he seems very fond of Mario and is just saying what we all know is true. Mario's got to realize that nerves are a problem and work to get better if he wants to reach his true potential

I guess we just have to wait and be patient...or maybe we can smack him upside the head and hope that works

no it's true! he's basically insulting him! having said in ace last month that "everyone has to handle things their own way" he chose to insult how mario handles things thats just out of order as far as i'm concerned and one of the main reasons i don't like him! he doens't seem to know what to say about people and what not to!

Mario's way of handling things isn't working and we have the Japan final to prove it. At least Ivan can recoginse that. Ivan can be out of place sometimes but this is not one of those times. It's just constructive critisism

you got issues, i think he knows Mario little bit more the you do, there is a reason they talk everyday. every who responded said something positve and understood what Ivan is saying, then you come along and ruin it for everyone. LJUBO TROLL..hater

Ivan and Mario are going to work well together so their country can win the Davis Cup. I'm sure that is what is important to both of them right now. And I certainly hope they do win the Cup ;)

LMFAO was I in ivans forum slagging him off??? it is you rd hat does that and as everyone in this damn place is always saying it's all about personal opinion my personal opinion of ivan is he's a dumbass he's a great player but he doens't know when to keep his mouth shut no i do not like his attitude no he is certainly not on my favorite player list! but that hardly makes me a troll get a fucking clue! if i were a troll hater of any player on mtf it would be murray.

and fact is he is wrong and out of order slagging him off again! i doubt mario woudl read that and say "ooh thanks for saying shit about me in that interview ivan" he's more likely saying "if you have advice for me can you tell me yourself not publicly"

and as for japan pyro i think losing one match having stormed teh first set is hardly a rarity i can tell you a millions times that that has happened it's a reason people say never bagle or thrash a good player in the first set! they will fight back!

fact is ivan is choosing AGAIN to slag a player off rather than supporting them!

RD i never said i knew mario better than ivan so fuck you! and i dare you to go in one thread mentioning ivan and say NOTHING!

As I said they are going to win the Davis Cup for their country :) And since I haven't followed Ivan much the worse thing I can say about him is that he lost me a bet because I was so sure he was going to win Paris

I have to say I was disappointed with some Ivan's statements from last week, but that's another story.
I dont think he ment anything bad by this, although to think that maybe mario will mature like him is http://yelims3.free.fr/Hein/Hein38.gif
I mean, I dont want to wait that long! Plus, they are so different players that you cant compare them. And I do think that Ivan can sometimes be little reckless with his statements, like he speaks before thinking, or that's just the way he thinks, I dont know…

Maybe I have the Tournament wrong. Ivan wasn't playing Rafa. But it must have been the Paris Tournament because that was the one that Andy got hurt in. Now I'm  No I would never bet against Rafa anyway of that much I'm sure ;)

thanks dear

i like it anyway, for me, prefer to know some guy from more ways not only by my own appreciation itself, coz there are many factors to shake his status on court which are invisible to us, i think as a tennis player, Ljubo more know Mario than anyone of us, i tend to him at some point ;) of course his words make me a little bit nervous, is it that Mario didnt want to accept his advice

this TMC in Shanghai, Ljubo never spoke of Mario when asked of Croa's tennis which is not normal to me, how i want him to say sthg about Mario :(

hey, sis linus is here :yippee:  dear
but did he talk a lot about Croatian tennis guys ? I thought he was only focused on his Masters Cup, which is individual stuff... so it was not really the time for him to talk about other Croatian tennis players

so pity dear :o seems a little bit misunderstood. Ljubo talked about much in Shanghai, about his childhood, his life, his minds, his wife, Davis Cup for Croa and Croa tennis guys of course you know, and why i couldnt feel confused when he spoke of other names but without Mario, even one word, sorry, no, when i asked him of Mario, he just showed surprise to me, of course, i never thought it was a kind of fault, completely never ;)

but let us stop it here, not go on any more  at least i have known how you thought. He plays for so many years so many times outside Shanghai, so i have not the right time to discuss that coz just once for him in Shanghai, esp it seems there is something fire here though i dont think it necessary to appear out.
