I have to disagree with you in that Rafa is arrogant. He never talks as if he is the favorite to win a tournament, praises other players, and frequently mentions that there are so many talented players out there.

He has said repeatedly that he feels very lucky to have had such a great year and he knows that this year is special for him and will unlikely be repeated.

And as for his game, time and time again he has said that he needs to make improvements. For example, from his press conference today:

It seems Agassi has said approximately that Nadal has a very physical playstyle that is playing very hard all the points and maybe it will have him ill effects in the future.

I wouldn't call him the better player now since his wins against Federer came up until 2003 and since then Federer has won 4 in a row. There was a stage when he had miserable records against Henman, Agassi and Hewitt too. When they were regularly beating him they were all better players than Roger, but Roger has made the quantum leap and today has turned around those H2H's and he is the better player.

Nadal's wins against Roger came after he achieved that quantum leap, and even in his lone loss to him he was within 2 points from victory. So saying his wins against Roger were a fluke doesn't hold much water. Perhaps in the future Roger will find a way to beat Nadal regularly, perhaps not. Since they have not met now since June it is hard to say. But for now, Nadal is a better player than Roger when they face each other on the court until otherwise proven.
