There will be four seeded players : 1st : Ferrer , 2nd : Ferrero , 3rd: Robredo , 4th: Moyà . ( that is according to the ATP entry ranking )

And according to the new/link VamosEspaña posted the draw will be held on 15th at 4 PM

MADRID. El viernes, en Valladolid y a las 15.00, empezará el Masters Nacional que, a partir de este año, será también la Copa del Rey. Las gestiones de la Federación Española, y en concreto de Javier Duarte y Albert Rivas, han dado los mejores frutos.

Han confirmado su presencia siete de los ocho mejores tenistas españoles. Sólo persiste la duda del número uno, Rafa Nadal. El mallorquín, que no juega desde el Masters Series de Madrid y que tuvo que retirarse del Masters de Shangai, sigue recuperándose y todo apunta a que no estará listo para competir en la capital vallisoletana.

Hoy visitará al médico de la Federación, Ángel Ruiz Cotorro, que le realizará las últimas pruebas y mañana se conocerá su decisión. Desde la organización ya se ha empezado a asumir su ausencia. No se tienen demasiadas esperanzas de que esté en la relación final y ya se busca sustituto.

El reglamento del Masters permite que el octavo jugador sea elegido por invitación. En este sentido la Federación está barajando dos posibilidades. La primera, que corra el ranking y en ese caso se cursaría una «wild card» para Albert Montañés. La segunda, que además se presenta como la más probable, es que se realice esta invitación directa a un tenista como premio a su trayectoria. El elegido sería Albert Costa, un jugador que se ha marcado el 2006 como un último intento antes de su retirada, posibilidad que llegó a estar muy cerca de producirse hace sólo unas semanas.

El jueves se realizará el sorteo del Masters con cuatro cabezas de serie. La ausencia de Nadal cedería el número uno a David Ferrer, el dos recaería en Juan Carlos Ferrero; el tres, en Tommy Robredo; y el cuatro sería Carlos Moyá. Sus rivales para la primera ronda saldrán de un bombo en el que se incluirán Fernando Verdasco, Feliciano López, Beto Martín y un cuarto a decidir (casi seguro Albert Costa).

Today a newspaper has announced that Albert Montañes will be the 8th player replacing Nadal , in fact there are comments of Montañes' coach at this newspaper talking about his confirmed presence in Valladolid .

Moyà also pulls out because of a tendinitis in his right shoulder and he needs some days of rest . Albert Costa replaces him.
