Good news- With Lleyton Hewitt's withdrawals, Andre could and probably will finish the year Number 4 in the ATP Entry Rankings. Entry points are as follows:

100 for each RR win
200 for Semi win
250 for Final win (750 undefeated!)

Hewitt won 2 Round Robin and semi final last year so 400 points coming off Hewitt. Nothing coming off Andre!!! Hewitt is on 2490, minus 400 = 2090. Whatever, Andre will stay at 2275. He needs good performances to stay ahead of Coria, Davydenko and Ljubicic but he could finish 4th in Ranks!!

Champions Race will be a little harder for Andre. Agassi is on 455, Hewitt on 498. 43 points gap. Race points are as follows:

20 for each RR win
40 for Semi win
50 for Final win (150 undefeated)

If Andre wins three RR matches he will overtake Hewitt!!!

I hope Andre will be not in the same group with Federer.

If Andre is in Federer's group we can give up on him making the SF!

In 2003, AA was in Federer's group in Houston...he lost his first round robin match against Federer (in three sets, two of which were tie breakers, I believe)...and then beat Ferrero and Schuettler ...that was enough to get him into the semis (two players can come from the same group into the semis...it's a point thing)...in the semis he beat Nalbandian...and then lost in the finals to Federer...so Andre lost two matches to Federer in the same tournament...but was still the runner up finalist!!

This was really the emergence of Federer's dominance in tennis....

I hope he is in the same group with Fed. Then he will make it to the finals against Fed.

I guess if we want Andre to make Finals he has to be in Federer's group. He can survive a lost in RR, but would avoid him in SF.

Race (x5) and entry are the same now, for those that didn't play challengers, because last year's TMC entry points are off already (they always fall off with Paris Bercy).

So Andre needs to either win three RR matches as you said, or two plus his semi-final in order to overtake Lleyton.

Could be in either group - this is done by a draw tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure that Roddick and Agassi will not be in the same grouping (as # 3 and 4)...but either could be in Federer's group or Nadal's group, depending on how they are drawn...

Then IF I UNDERSTAND the system, seeds 5 and 6 will be drawn...and is that Coria and Davendenko...one will go into group A...the other into group B...

And finally the draw will be made to see where # 7 or 8 go...so Lubijicic and Gaudio will go , one into Group A, and other into Group B....

And, yes, I do believe it's possible for Coria and Gaudio to be in the same group...??????????????jcm
