The seeds should be announced tommorrow (Wednesday).
What do you think the commitee will do?
If they go by the DC ranking, the seeds in the WG would be:
France
Australia
Russia
Spain
Argentina
Switzerland
USA
Sweden
But there might be other considerations...
traditionally the finalists are given the top 2 seeds, so Spain might be seeded #2 ahead of France and Russia... they also merit a high seeding based on their players ranking... but on the other hand, among the considerations is experience on different surfaces, which is Spain's handicap... they have never won a tie in the world group on a surface other than clay!
If ranking of players is taken in consideration, Argentina has a strong case to be seeded in the top 4. The Netherlands players' ranking may get them a seeding, at the expense of Sweden.
The seeding for group 1 is a no-brainer. All the QR losers should get the commitee's aproval. That's Germany, Slovak rep, Belgium and Britain in Euro-Africa, Brazil & Ecuador in America, India & Thailand in Asia-Oceania.
