before we start, I would like to pay hommage to this man:

Bet of the day - Ferrero to beat Berdych 1.66

I might stay off PHM, I'm kind of pushing my luck on him :o I've still got my 300/1 outright on the cards, not looking so daft anymore :ras:

:worship::worship::worship:

now down to business

Roddick + Ljubicic + Berdych = easy money

These men are 3 of the best servers in the world, I don't expect any of them to have their serve broken at all in this matches. They would probably be in top 10 for returning too, so that also helps.

Davydenko v Stepanek =

Two top 5 indoor players, should be one hell of a match. It could be a long one, if you're going out to the matches live, make sure you take a picnic basket with you and you might need one if you watch the match at home as well.

Edit: my apologies, due to Ginepri's withdrawal from this event, Berdych will now take his spot in the SF.

I would also like to pay homage to this man. Anyone that thinks Roddick is in the top 10 in the world for returning clearly knows their stuff.

Oh and by the way, Ginepri isn't in the QF's yet, so I don't really see how you've backed him to win on Friday.

Roddick,Ljubicic,Ginepri top 10 returners? What is wrong with you. All 3 of these guys are very good players but their weakenss is return of serve. These 3 break the least of most of the top guys.

You clearly don't know what you're talking about. This guy is a genius, if he says these 3 are in the top 10 returners, then they are. OK!

Since I have watched Roddick cooked Hrbarty alive, I would like to pay my respect to Andy with all my heart, but somehow my wallet is not opening for him as yet. :p

My bet of the day is my cute baldy against Robredo. :worship:

Davydenko is top 5 indoor player? well him losing to Ljubicic 6-4 6-1 indoors, would make Ljubicic best of all time.

Someone get Spooky out of here. First he says Roddick,Ljubicic, and Ginepri are top 10 returners then Davydenko is a top 5 indoor player.

Nah, Ljubicic would be number two. Kiefer, who beat him 6-1 6-1, would be the greatest of all time.

Another safe bet besides Ljubo is Petrova over Sucha (ranking 78, never won any top 20 players in 2005).

However, I trust Ljubo more than Petrova. Now, I can only hope that my choice is the right one. :wavey:

I only have one big bet left in me this whole tournament as I feel the only uncertain matches today are berdman v GG and step v davydenko with the other two matches having clear winners

I think all i will be doing today is cheering on roddick and ljubicic to ensure they both meet in the SF and then i can unleash

good luck with all your bets today

fair play, though davydenko has an extremely underrated return of serve in the world so this somewhat nullifies one of stepanek's main weapons on this surface. the ukrainian is going to make stepanek play more shots behind his serve than any opponent he has played so far

The reason that I don't like Dementieva is the same as why I don't like Roddick. As much as she can beat anybody in a given day, she is capable of losing her grip against nobody out of blue. That's why I can't bet on her or against her. What a bookie's dream player!

did you listen to davydenko interviews on atp site. i was on stepanek already but he only managed to give me more confidence with his talking of injuries/wanting rest/preferring not to play stepanek - + hes basically qualified for shan....or am i wrong?

skel1983
11-04-2005, 10:54 AM
Yeah that was my reasoning too man. He learnt he had qualified yesterday and had played through pain to do it. Today he could be interested in finishing up in Paris, having a week off for treatment and flying over to Shanghai.

But how many times do we jump on the bandwagon when it comes to players and their injuries?

Saying that though Jez, look at Davydenko last week!!!
He had the injury and was whooped 1 and 1 by Kiefer, if you have any doubts, stepanek is not the man you wan't to be facing, because we all know he will be solid as a rock, i am even thinking about having 2-0 to Stepenek, but i don't know if i have the balls to do it, Davydenko for me will roll over if Step man gets an early break, that's the key if he jumps on him early it will be very comfortable!!!

Best bet of the day for me :

Stepanek x Vaidisova @ 2.05

Thinking of adding Petrova or Ljubo in there, but both players are awfully tired. plus, Sucha is the defending champion at Philly, 1.08 is wayyy too short.
