What ever happened???

I have been following tennis closely since the start of 2001, i was looking on the atp web site, and just wondering what ever happened to the event in Brighton???? why was it ditched, and for which event did it get ditched for.

I know this might annoy some people, but i feel there should at least be one other event in the UK, at some time after Wimbledon, an indoor event would make sense( i know the schedule is packed etc etc) i think any Tennis event in the uk would be a hit and probably be sold out many times over.

I am not saying the UK deserves another event or anything like that, it doesn't deserve one more than any other nation, but i would of thought with it having a big Economy and the money which would be able to be generated with an event in the Winter months, it suprises me there is not another event which is not on Grass???

Yeah, I was chatting to a guy at surbiton about the events that stopped. He said its about the funding, the events cant afford to carry on :shrug:

Would be nice to have a non grass court tournament, all grass is boring as hell! I remember the guy telling me about bournemouth too when he saw brugera/norman :yeah: :D
