is it any good like the virtua tennis on PS2?
man, they got fed, roddick, and sharapova in there... i'm tempted to get the game, but i'll need to buy a PSP. what's holding me back is that i'm saving up for the upcoming PS3.
decisions, decisions... any advice?

I'm guessing you've played the "old" tennis 2k2 for the Dreamcast/PS2? It's EXACTLY the same, just that they swaped old players for new ones. For example, Pat Rafter was replaced by Roger Federer. Federer does everything Rafter did, grunts the way Rafter did, hits his strokes the way Rafter did, etc. As for the women, they added in 2 random fictional players, which I find insanely STUPID, they could have easily replaced Dokic (fast runner) with Clijsters and Stevenson (strong backhand) with Henin, but they replaced them with Bailey and Relandini :retard:. Oh and Venus replaced Seles so she hits double handed off both dies, and Mauresmo replaced Arantxa, so she has a double handed backhand :o. Anyways it's still an awesome game, and GREAT fun for on the go (riding the bus to school/work, taking it along to kill hours of time on trips, etc) so yeah I would reccomend it, and also their supply of games will start to grow now, since it's still a relatively new system. I can't believe though that you're gonna waste a ton of $ on the new PS3. My bet is that it won't be any lower than 599$, I don't have the strength to blow that much of my earned $ on a new system, will probably wait it out a year until the prices drop.

well, of course, i won't buy the ps3 as soon as it's released, but still, even after waiting for the prices to drop, it'd still cost alot. so in a nut shell, i can't afford to buy both systems. i don't see myself speding that much...
well, if it's just the same as the viruta tennis 2, i'll just keep playing that game and use my imagination that rafter is roger federer. haha!
off topic: reason i'm getting ps3 is i can't wait for metal gear 4! i hope that they put in virtua tennis 3 there.
knock off games cost only $2 here in asia. :p so spending a lot on the console wouldn't matter since these games come in cheap...

Well if you're only gonna buy one, that's an easy choice: PS3 obviously :p. Though a PSP is much more than just a handheld system, it can hold your downloaded music fiels into it and any video files you want to transfer from your computer to the PSP, It also stores pictures as well, so it's multi functional.
I doubt Virtua Tennis 3 will come out on the PS3, as it looks as though Top Spin is the "new" Tennis 2k2. True that it'll still cost an arm and a leg even when prices to drop after a year or so:p. On a personal sidenote, I wish Smash Court Tennis Pro Tournament 3 comes out for the PS3, that game owns , though they need to make an extra super super hard mode because the computer is so easy to beat, it's annoying.

I have it....it's not that great. I think TOP SPIN for xbox is much better and can't wait til TOP SPIN2 on XBOX 360 in few weeks.....

Oh god a TOPSPIN lover :tape:. Why can't people realize that Smash Court 2 is THE tennis game out there?
Top Spin =acrade= CRAP.

I have it. Its the same exact thing as Tennis 2k2 for Dreamcast except different players. But I always loved tennis 2k2 so I love this game on the PSP. Multiplayer is awesome... the only thing I hate is that you cannot use the characters that you create in multiplayer... That sucks bigtime... !!!! i was like whyyyyyyy????
