so, the last two 'll be??

Hopefully Davydenko and Ljubicic - their results all year make them most deserving I think.

Yes - to be honest, this is resembling the WTA tour right now. If the 8 players are not the top 8 in the world, I don't really mind who gets in.

:scared: yes, 3 of them are suspected for playing cuz of injury, don't know if Agassi would be ready for this too..,if they pull out, this would definetely give a cup that doesn't by any means represent the masters series for this year..

Kiefer is a good player, however i guess he's got problems with concentrating when it really matters ,

With Safin already pulled out there are actually three spots avaliable, and any of the following players could qualify:

Guillermo Coria, Nikolay Davydenko, Ivan Ljubicic, Gaston Gaudio, David Nalbandian, Mariano Puerta, Fernando Gonzalez, Thomas Johansson and David Ferrer

Totally agree. I doubt Hewitt is going to be there and I think there must be a good possibility sadly Federer won't be their either so there could be a few spots open. Lubicic and Davydenko would both seem to deserve places but I'd be very happy to see Gonzo make it as well. If Nalbandian or Puerta also make it that would be alright also. Whoever is there it will be a good show.

guess, ljubicic is the one with biggest chances here for both qualifying and making good results, Gonzalez getting in would make it fun. Coria seems close to qualification but unfortunately , the guy is lately having problems specially with his serve, so no great expectations here
Hewitt doesn't seem that injured to miss it ??

Safin's chances of playing are extremely low and I would rate Hewitt's chances at about 50-50. But I think there is a good chance that Federer, Nadal and Agassi will be there so it's probably either 2 or 3 spots up for grabs.

I think Davydenko and Ljubicic will qualify. After the year they've both had, they clearly deserve it more than the others and, at the moment, they're in pole position. If a 3rd spot becomes available, Gonzo will be there to grab it. The guy was awesome in Basel and he should be able to take that form into Paris.

now coria 's chances are decreasing a little bit after his early exit from paris. he has to wait for the other competitors there..i think the guy is suffering from his worst tennis levels ever  , he needs to settle down and think it over more than anything else.
now eyes on Ljubicic and , Nalbandian,Davydenko and Gonzales

Well I'd love Ljubo to make it because he clearly deserves it after his results this year and would make it very competitive. Would also love to see Gaston there... just because well it's Gaston - do I have to have a good reason?? :p

If there are more than 2 more spots available my 3rd choice would be Gonzo.

Coria's chances are only a little bit less than they were (had he won today he would have been in). For him not to qualify, Davydenko would have to reach the final and be beaten by Ljubicic, Nalbandian or Puerta.

well,no bad feelings i swear  . puerta getting to Shanghai would make me happy, however he's got some tough tests to pass in paris at first. as for Gaudio, don't know, he's getting so inconsistent lately,
So Dany IMHO, i guess those two are a few steps behind the others.. ;)

true, reaching Shanghai is not a happy event without some good results there..and at the moment ,Coria seems far from making this happen.

It's confirmed by TMC Organizers that Roger to be in Shanghai on Nov.6, Safin Nov.11, Hewitt Nov.9, Roddick Nov.9, Agassi Nov.7, Nadal Nov.7, Davydenko Nov.8. Sure that doesn't necessarily mean they will all play. Even if they don't, they will surely show up in Shanghai. I really think Safin's chance of play is relatively slim. Not so sure about Roger. For others, I think they will all play.

I hope Ljubo and Nalby can make Shanghai :D

And Safin does not go to Shanghai.. that's from Kafelnikov who just said that Safin will go to Spain instead and will start proparing to teh next year.

Considering I don't believe Safin will make it...
6) Coria
7) Ljubicic
8) Davydenko (hopefully Nalbandian)

Jimnik

Coria will definately qualify. He's currently in 6th place so 3 players need to overtake him. Davydenko could overtake him but Ljubicic, Gaudio and Nalbandian are 90 pts behind so only 1 futher player can overtake. The lowest position Guille can finish in is 8th.

Not that there was this much doubt, but Andre officially qualifies for Shanghai today

Agassi secures Masters Cup place
Andre Agassi has qualified for the season-ending Masters Cup in Shanghai for the 14th time in his career.
The American has been inactive since losing the US Open final to Roger Federer, and a suspect back means it remains uncertain whether he will play.

Meanwhile, Federer is optimistic he will be fit to play as he recovers from a torn ankle ligament.

The world number one was on crutches for two weeks after sustaining the injury in training earlier this month.

"I'm walking now," he said. "I'm taping the ankle a lot, but that helps me to put weight on it.

QUALIFIED FOR SHANGHAI
Roger Federer
Rafael Nadal
Andy Roddick
Lleyton Hewitt
Marat Safin*
Andre Agassi
* Safin yet to officially withdraw

"I'm optimistic, but it's hard to tell. Shanghai means everything. That's what I'm working on right now, I'm hopeful."

Federer is among several qualifiers struggling to be fit for the event starting on 13 November.

Marat Safin has ruled himself out with knee problems, while Lleyton Hewitt could miss the event either to attend the birth of his first child or with a toe injury.

Coria needs to be at least 7th to qualify because Safin gets in automatically, wherever he ends up. That means only two players need to overtake him. If Davydenko gets to the final in Paris and is beaten by Ljubicic or Nalbandian, Coria will not get a TMC place (although he'd be first alternate). Small chance, but possible.
