...on the champion's tour :p

def. Mcenroe 6-3 6-4 in the finals of Essen to win his second tournament in a row. He is skipping the masters this year to go to the Davis Cup finals :p

so croatia will have a top10 player, a top20 player, and a world number 1 on their dc team

Well when you look at this you can't say he didn't play in 2004, even if he had only first round lose.

he was injured for 2002, 2003, and 2004 (and for 1999 and 2000 and most of 2001)

Ivanisevic primed to face Slovakia in Davis Cup final
Sun Oct 30, 2005 7:30 PM GMT170

LONDON, Oct 30 (Reuters) - Former Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic predicts he will be tough to beat if he is selected for Croatia's Davis Cup final against Slovakia.

"I am playing much better tennis now than when I reached the third round at Wimbledon last year," the 35-year-old Ivanisevic, who retired from professional tennis after his outing at the All England Club in 2004, said on Sunday.

"It's very tough to beat me when I play like this, even for guys on the regular tour."

Croatian captain Nikki Pilic is likely to be encouraged by Ivanisevic's remarks ahead of the Davis Cup final in Bratislava from Dec. 2-4.

Earlier in the week, Ivanisevic said he could play in the doubles if either world number 11 Ivan Ljubicic or Mario Ancic were injured or exhausted after the opening day's singles.

Ivanisevic has been the dominant player on the Seniors Tour this season, having overcome the shoulder injury which plagued him for a number of years on the main circuit.

"If they pick me to play I will be ready," Ivanisevic said after he won his third Senior Tour title in 2005 in Essen.

"I'm much more relaxed, my shoulder doesn't hurt, my serving rhythm is better and I'm practising hard."

Ljubicic, undefeated in the men's team competition this year, and Ancic are expected to spearhead Croatia in the final.
